UPDATED: JAN 21, 2015 Pours a cloudy brown/copper with a off-white head. Aroma of malt, fruits, herbs, hops and rye. Some pine and pepper. This is somewhat IPA-ish, but the rye is very noticeable. Nice brew, enjoyed it a lot.

Can’t see why people try to relate this to an IPA. Compared to a regular pale ale it has more taste thanks to the rye effect. If you like rye in general this is a good beer.
As rye bread pairs well with cheeses and cold cuts, this beer does as well. This makes it into a nice and unique one.

I’ve had this beer at least seven times and I can’t help but notice the change in taste over time. When I first had this beer, it was still young. It tasted like it had a little more hops than a normal beer and the soury taste of rye was easily distuingishable. It was okay and nice for a change, but nothing I needed to drink again. Until I tried it again, that is. From the same batch, six months later, this beer had managed to turn into a powerful IPA. The rye wasn’t that present in the taste as it used to be, but the taste had transformed into a more citrus-fruity-bitter taste. As I am drinking it now, one of the late 2013 batch, the taste reminds me of the first time I drank this Jacobus RPA. Hops? Yes, but not overwhelming. Rye? Yes. IPA? Not really. I’m gonna get a bunch of these and save them in my closet for six months or so, see if this batch can pull of the same transformation as last year’s batch: from rye-ish bitterish to a very powerful IPA. I highly recommend you try this!

UPDATED: NOV 20, 2013 Bardzo dobre żytnie piwo, w którym żyto jest istotnym dodatkiem, a nie kwiatkiem do kożucha. Charakterystyczna ziemistość, jaką nadaje żyto doskonale gra z średnią, szlachetną goryczką i wytrawną, acz niezwykle przyjemną słodową pełnią. Gdyby nie cena byłoby doskonałe codzienne piwo.
