Nice beer with a rye flavor. A good beer to start with. Only 5.3% of alcohol. Bryan

UPDATED: JUL 1, 2013 Maybe it’s the subtle scent of rye that floats from a nice half pint, but Jacobus RPA is a beer that takes me biking through the Dutch country side-- even if the countryside is filled with nothing but canals, cows, and sheep (and no rye). There’s a nice country aroma here. It pours a nice acorn brown color, not too dark, not too light, with a short foamy head. True to its name, this beer tastes of rye, but not aggressively so; just enough. I’d compare it to a nice Sierra Nevada Pale Ale with a rye kick. Overall, this beer kicks ass. It’s totally accessible. Nice to have on a early afternoon but equally pleasant on a late night out. I’ve had it on tap at the Jopenkerk. It goes down smooth every time.

Smell of tar. Bronze colour, high beige head. Very bitter, slightly sweet finish. Aroma of tar, hops, flowers, spruce. Fruity flavours in finish. Nice mixture of rye and IPA.

The taste leaves my mouth very fast, which is a strange experience. I would recommend just to try it ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

It had a hazle brown color, with an average head. Has a lite hoppy smell, with a malty touch. It has a mild hoppy taste, and you can taste the rye quite well. Overall not a outspoken taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Deep amber beer with a lacy big offwhite head. Hoppy, fruity, malty aroma with some metallic notes. Hoppy and malty flavour.
