Bottle pours deep dark copper with thin tan head of foam. The aroma offers up spicy hops, mineral notes, some earthy herbal aromatics and then a dash of pine hops. The taste is similar with a nice mix of pine hops, some rye like spiciness as well as a modest drying mineral to faint malt roastiness.

On tap at ’t Arendsnest, Amsterdam. Hazy orange with a white head and lacing. There’s an initial soapy hop aroma that smells a little off at first but then improves. Hops and rye combine in the glass to create a peach, strawberry and citrus whirlpool on the tongue, with a nice bitter finish. Classy and vibrant, there’s few faults with this beer; I only wish I’ll see it again.

0,33 l bottle, shared with a friend.
Poured hazy brown with a fine creamy off white head. Spicey grainy aroma with some lurking hops, rye and yeast. Medium bodied beer, you can feel the rye in the taste, yeast and grassy-pine-bittery hops on the tomgue. Spicy aftertaste.

Dutch version of a rye ipa and it was pretty solid. Probably the most bitter thing that I had on my trip to amsterdam. Pours brown with moderate head. thin body, bitter and refreshing. Well balanced by the rye. Good bittering hops. Quick crisp clean finish. If it ever got hot here it would be a good thing to have.

0.33l bottle kindly provided by MrHangover! This one pours a cloudy dark deep bronze colored beer, really packed with microscopic particles floating around and a nice medium sized light beige head. On the aroma this one is malty and sweet with both dark almost burned rye bread, candy, fruity hops, a little alcohol and something light spicy. Quite nice! It’s average to lively carbonated and it has a thin oily to almost watery texture in the mouth. Flavors also a bit light at first, but I get a nice dry bitterness all the way in this one. Somehow reminds me of Alvinne - Freaky - both in flavor and in texture. Not to much of the rye in the flavor, but there is some mild citrus tones and some light roasted chocolate hints. Ends light mineral-watery and dry. Interesting one. 06.07.2012
