Bottle from beernavigator. My first Jopen beer. Pours ruby with a big sustainable and beautiful offwhite/pale beige head. The nose is fruity, grassy and floral together with some brown bread. My assosiations say eglish bitter. The mouthfeeling is creamy and soft the malt body feels komplex for being a session beer. The hops adds grassy, peppery and floral tones. An easy but very tastful and rather complex drink that I really appreciated
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Douberd (632) - NETHERLANDS - APR 16, 2013
Long neck bottle, 330 ml, at home. Poured into a tulip glass. ABV 5,3%
Pours a deep red ruby colour with two fingers of off-white head. Bits and pieces floating in the beer. Foam has good retention and leaves nice rings of lacing as it goes down.
Aroma is very fruity, with a blend of tropical fruits and citrus upfront and some light cherries on the background.
Taste is bitter, the citrus more notable here. Even more bitter on the afteraste, with a long finish.
Medium thick body and carbonation a bit above average. Nice dryness on the palate.
Nice beer, the low alcohol makes it ideal for a session beer.
