red, brown, tan foam, hazy, lightly sour, light body, thin feel, This beer’s got a lovely foam giving it an attractive appearance. Unfortunately, you need to strain your nose to find an almost inexistant smell. The texture and body are too weak.

’Koyt’ is an old Dutch name for ’gruitbier’ and etymologically the same as "keyte", the name Strubbe uses for a few of its beers as well. This one was brewed in Belgium some years ago and revives that mediëval tradition, allegedly not hopped though I find that hard to believe, bronze-coloured beer with complex sweetness, spice accents and bitterish finish.

Pours a clear red/brownish colour with decent carbonation. Strong grainy aroma, some yeasty and malty notes there. Taste is rather tangy, bit of sourness and some bitterness, not much there. Goes down smooth, thin bodied.

A hazy red-brown beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet malty combined fruit. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of fruit and caramel.

300ml bottle at Old Nickel. Unclear, brown coloured body, fair tan-coloured head. Spotty lacing. Sweet fruity nose joined by herbs and spices. Flavoured with plums, raisin, dough and caramel. Herbal hops to the ending with integrated alcohol. Fine bodied. Nice (Amsterdam 21.07.2014).

From the tap at Jopenkerk. small foamy head. Smells like candy and ahorn cyrup. Tastes of chocolate, lots of malts, liquorish and apple cyrup. Not my thing!

Bottle. Really enjoyed this. Hit of lavender-like aroma at first. Handsome pour: clean deep amber, almost mahogany. Touches of liquorice in flavour, and a somewhat menthol-like quality about it.

A dark red, brown bear with a creamy tan head. Sweet on the nose and the taste, licorice, cough syrup. Quite different then I expected, I had a Witte Klavervier Kuyt and this is very different, are they really the same style?
