33cl bottles shared by impuritylaw@Bier ohne Stil-TAsting, Bierhandlung 2016-4, merci. - A balanced wealth of herbal, roasted and caramel flavours that soon become hard to trace in the palate-coating mix. Liquid diluted Ricola coughdrops, diluted with precision and spiced like a sauce reduction. Warming, with good-natured intent. Will revisit side-by-side with Gentse Gruut Inferno.

@bartlebier’s weird beer tasting Bierhandlung/Apr.16; the essence of a beautiful morning of a great day to come, begun with bowl of porridge with ripe bananas and cup of good strong coffee. Lovely.

Refrigerated 75 cl brown bottle poured into a glass. Translucent medium brown with medium beige head. Aroma is herbal, medium body, medium carbonation, and thick small-bubble lacing. Taste is herbs and dark malt.

At joepen Amsterdam, Pours clearish brown with white head. Smell and flavor are Belgian malt, spice, wood, port and plum wine. Finish has tons of complexity and layers. Tasty gruit but wouldn’t want a full glass of this. Small size was perfect

750 ml. bottle from Chuck via the Rare Beer Club, poured to snifters showing a cloudy, copper color, with a presentable layer of off white head foam, and spots & ribbons of lacing. The nose was pure holiday spiced & herbal cake. Medium bodied, with decent effervescence, the taste was similar to the aroma, added a touch of treacle & sweetness, some alcohol warmth, but waned in comparative expression. Still a tasty treat to share.

Alles sehr sanft und dezent. Daher kommt das Bier auch nicht so recht in Schwung. Im JOPEN Probierlokal zu Amsterdam vernascht (25cl/4,75).

appearance: cloudy medium dark brown, short tan head quickly fading; no lacing. aroma: caramel, toffee, star anise, brown sugar, herb garden, root beer, vanilla. taste: tastes like a beery root/birch beer blended with cola, vanilla, and toffee. finish: herbal sweetness lasts, along with a bit of caramel and toffee. notes: No hops to this at all, which is of course fine. Tasty and unique. Palate is pretty full. Felt like I was drinking some medicine sold out of the back of a covered wagon in 1800s Wyoming. And I enjoyed the experience. Bottle from the Rare Beer Club.

15cl glass at Bierfestival Groningen. bottle was from 2000. bartender poured me the bottom of the bottle which was flat and filled the glass up with a unopened bottle. therefore hte beer had a lot of sediment floating around. has a hazy dark brown colour with no head. aroma of raisins, malts, yeasty, slight dark dried fruits. taste was medium sweet, medium bitter with a slight wine-like sourness. notes of raisins, plums, (red) wine, caramel, malts. watery texture, medium bodied with flat carbonation.
