Bottle @ home.
Clear medium brown color with a large, frothy - creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, chocolate, brown sugar, light alcohol, notes of licorice. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily - smooth, carbonation is soft. (290408)

An unclear brown beer with a collapsing brown head. The aroma is yeasty and quite spicy. The flavor is sweet yeasty and very spicy, though I can’t pick out what spices, the alcohol also makes its mark by burning the mouth and leaving you with a warming fealing.

(Bottle 30 cl) Pours a pretty, clear red brown with a small, off-white head. Spicy, lightly herbal aroma. Rather flat carbonation. Medium-bodied, lightly tart with very spicy accents - mint and aniseed in particular. Very different and interesting. A "gruit beer". 300606

Bottled (from Cracked Kettle). Deep rubyish brown colour, small brownish bubbly head. Aroma is juniper, licorice, caramel and some mild notes of alcohol. Flavour is licorice, spices, caramel, fruits, malts and some cool wooden and herbal notes which stay in the throat. Very nicely balanced thing.

Cloudy dark brown color; nice perlage, big head. Strong aroma, with caramel and malt, quite Belgian, mature (the bottle was in my cellar for at least one year). Medium body strength, with sweetish mouthfeel, a lot of caramel; the mouthfeel becomes drier at the end, with not much bitterness, and the warming alcohol feeling; quite boring…

Hazy brown with large beige head. Sweet malty aroma with herbal notes. Sweet spicy flavor with malty and mint notes.

30 cl bottle. Pours unclear brown with a fine creamy head & lacings. Aroma is very malty & spicy - coriander & caramel dominates the aroma. Again very aggressive herbal/coriander surrounds the tastebuds inclding liquorice.. Body is full & creamy. A bit of warmth & sweetness. Very well balanced & well made!
