2007 bottle, 750 ml with caged cork. Ready with a big Duvel glass in case of a gusher… but nope, not a problem this time. Pours reddish brown, fizzy like a soda, thin head. Smell is, um, like a rubber inner tube in the glass! Definitely, this got corked like a red wine. But a light herbal quality in the bottle. Wha hoppen? Okay, I can get past the nose and sip some of the beer, which is not as herbal as, well, other traditional ales, in fact, milder than some other old beers I’ve kept too long. So beyond the spoiled nose I find a slightly fruity ale, not too spicy and herbal, with a slight bit of tart marred by too much horseblanket. It’s a sign. I need to clear out my cellar!

Pours a slightly hazy (thanks to the sediments) coppery color, topped with a decent beige colored head. Mild aroam of herbal hops, some spices aslo present with some soury and soapy notes as well. Taste is sweet and biscuity, no real bitterness. Surprisingly creamy and hides alcohol very well. Nice one actually.

Bottle from Systembolaget. Spicy smell, hard to tell what spices though. Cinnamon? Sweet malty and spicy taste. The spices isn’t to overpowering and they are on a level so they are hard to separate. It’s not quite as spicy as a christmas beer (the spiced ones). I like it.

Scent of foam banana, berries and caramel. The taste is spicy, bitter and a little yeast. Okay bitterness that fills the mouth for a long time. No beer that fits me unfortunately. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

The smell of herbs and spices really hits you when you drink this. At 8.5% it packs a serious punch, and proves that hops aren’t everything - contrary to the current near-religious hophead fervor that rules in the US and much of the UK, unfortunately. Very unusual, try it if you get a chance. The artwork is a bit off, I think, and I don’t like those Dutch bottles.

330ml brown bottle, poured into a Tulip glass. Appearance is murky brown with a medium sized tan head. Aroma of herbs, spices and a hint of orange. Flavours of spices, herbs, caramel and syrup loaf. Taste is light-medium sweet and medium bitter. Palate is medium-full bodied, smooth texture and average carbonation. Jopen Koyt is quite spicy and tasty.

Doften påminner om Glühwein. Tunn, söt och kvalmig. Inte provat denna typ tidigare men är inget jag gillar. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
