dark, molasses, sticky fruits. no specialty taste, like a beer i have had many times before, but one i like. Someone mentioned prunes and I have to agree. barnyard, earthy, cooked vegetables, raisin, Bottle from De Bierkoning

Bottle 330ml.

Clear medium red brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, bread, roasted, oak, soy sauce notes, light to moderate hoppy. Flavour is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, prune, caramel, dark fruit, wood. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120817]

Bottle shared from ABC Beers. Pours brown with a small tan head. Aroma of caramel, malt, molasses, oak, slightly vinous, bourbon, figs, raisins and spice. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter, with a long sweet and boozy finish. Full bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle: #2159/2500: Medium to bigger sized creamy tan head on top of a deep dark beer with a ruby shine. Smell butterscotch, butter, oak, cookies, raisin, figs, barley malts, cream, vanilla, hints of wood and yeast. Taste is incredible balanced and smooth for 9% alc. Oak, wood, cream, bitters, barley malts, vanilla, some spices, toffee, raisin, figs, some bay leaf, This is smooth and tasty! Aftertaste is a warm mix of bitter, spices, some dark fruits and barley malts. Low carbo, soft watery mouthfeel, medium to full body and a light creamy light sticky texture. This is a really good beer, complex, balanced, soft and smooth, tasty.

Bottle at home. Murky dark brown pour, no head. Aroma of caramel, vanilla, leather, bourbon, brown sugar and overripe plum. Flavor is sweet alcoholic fruits, some sweet malts, and nice smooth vanilla aging. Nice and well balanced. A bit flat though.

Dark roasted malts, sticky toffee, pecan nuts and some forest-y hops. Heading towards imperial stout, but with its present, cheesy Belgian yeast it has a character on its won. Mild wood presence at the start, with more soft sweet malts from the middle onwards. Soft carbonation, bit sticky in the end. Looses a bit of interest after some sips though. Would have liked more hops or spice (although it would agreeably change this beer’s character). An enjoyable quad. Not cheap. (33cl bottle, De Bierwinkel Leiden)

Bottle @ home. Aroma is roast, coffee, molasses, (burned) caramel, spices. Nice. Flavour is dry and roasty with coffee at first, followed by a caramelly molasses vanilla coating, roasty mocca in the finish. Very nice.

Aroma of vanilla, rye, wood and bourbon. Dark brown, small fading light beige head. Taste is vanilla, wood, bourbon, raisins. Quiet dry. Disappointing body.

Bottle@Home. Strong raisin aroma mixed with a hint of madeira, chocolate and vanilla. Deep dark red/brown, beige head, fair lace. Very sweet, light bitter, light salty, raisin, laurel, madeira (not dominant). Very sticky, light warming, medium body. Flavourful, easy.
