Until spring 2009 brewed by Huyghe for Jopen. Until 2006 brewed by Van Steenberge. Brewed with three grains: barley, oats and wheat, as requested in mediaeval Haarlem, fresh-bitterish hops and spicey coriander. Jopen Lentebier is unfiltered and gets a secondary fermentation in the bottle. A darker blonde beer with a fruity aroma and a fresh, fullbodied taste.

Bier ziet er goed uit, beetje oranje met een mooie witte kop. Smaak is fris, niet heel bijzonder.

Bottle 30cl. Amber coloured with a tiny white top that lasts. Aroma has the typical Jopen hops favour. The taste is beautifully balanced sweet and bitterness, with the bitterness most accented in the aftertaste. Best spring beer I tasted this year so far!

Een fris hoppig biertje wat, zoals het flesje ook aangeeft, lekker is met oosterse gerechten. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Very cloudy beer, because it is unfiltered of course. The beer pours a crystal clear white soft foam. The foam itself is very sweet and hoppy. The smell is also very sweet and hoppy, just like the taste. The beer is very hoppy; it has a lot in common with an IPA. There is also a lot of citrusy aroma. There is also a aroma my dad and me couldn’t quite get our finger on. After a lot of tasting and smelling, we could finely define it. The beer tastes like lychees. Especially the smell is the one of lychees. Very special

Bottle at home. Slightly hazy golden with fast disappearing white head. Apricots, cake, ’vlaai’, gingerbread, lemon, yeast, dough. Medium sweet with light bitter finish. Medium bodied with nice creamy feel which holds the taste well into the finish.
