COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Until spring 2009 brewed by Huyghe for Jopen. Until 2006 brewed by Van Steenberge. Brewed with three grains: barley, oats and wheat, as requested in mediaeval Haarlem, fresh-bitterish hops and spicey coriander. Jopen Lentebier is unfiltered and gets a secondary fermentation in the bottle. A darker blonde beer with a fruity aroma and a fresh, fullbodied taste.

Hazy orange-brown body with small yet firm white head. Yeast floats around, but that’s okay. Mango, white bread, barnyard, ginger and lime. Oily texture with good alcohol backup. Quite mild taste and a bit watery but nice to fruity enough to enjoy. (33cl bottle, 1,85 EUR)

UPDATED: JUN 5, 2012 Slightly hazy yellow colour. Sharp aroma of hop.Quite some hop in the flavour. It’s sharper than it is sweet. Very refreshing.

UPDATED: APR 26, 2011 Golden with white foamy head. Aroma of citrus, coriander seeds, yeast and hops. Fruit tones and malts. Fresh taste, some sweets but not too much, orange, spices, malts. Wheat. Nice hoppy tone. Balanced. Nice beer to celebrate spring. (from 33cL bottle) Update: 26-4-2011, from tap: Mostly the same qualities as the bottled version. Aroma more malty, less coriander. Flavour more liquorice and more pronounced bitter hops. Dryer, but this could also be age (residual sugars of the bottling might be more fermented)

Bottle: White foamy head, disappears slow. Color is deep orange to dark yellow. Smell fruit, malts, sugar, herbs, sweet, spices and hops/citrus. Taste is fresh and sweet, well balanced with low carbonation. Taste fruit (orange, apple), malts, hints of hops, hint of spices. A very rich and tasty spring beer.

Bottle @ home, 30 cl. from Hopduvel Ghent. Hazy orange-darkgolden color, with good offwhite head. Aroma fruits, nice hops, bit spice. Medium body. Taste little sweet, fruits, malts, and good hop bitterness. Refreshing brew. Is this really Huyghe ?

Bottled from Mitra, Naarden. Golden colored, white head. Very spicy nose, perhaps some hops. Sweet and bitter flavor, again the spices. Hard to describe why in general i dislike these spring-beers so much, but it’s just not my kind of beer.

Bottle. Dark blonde, yeast pours out in the glass, so it shows hazyness and the particles. Reasonable dense white head, fresh aroma, with apples, coriander, hops. Taste is slightly bitter, fizzling in the mouth. Again s fresh mouthfeeling, with oranges. Medium-bodied, with a bitter finish.

Bottle at home. Pours a clear golden color with a creamy white head that laces and a lot of floaties. Aroma is of nice grapefruity hops with fruits and some sweet floral notes. Flavor is sweet and bitter in a nice balance. Slightly more bitter in the finish. Lingering floral flavors. Lively carbonation and a creamy texture. Nice brew.
