Until spring 2009 brewed by Huyghe for Jopen. Until 2006 brewed by Van Steenberge. Brewed with three grains: barley, oats and wheat, as requested in mediaeval Haarlem, fresh-bitterish hops and spicey coriander. Jopen Lentebier is unfiltered and gets a secondary fermentation in the bottle. A darker blonde beer with a fruity aroma and a fresh, fullbodied taste.

Very cloudy beer, because it is unfiltered of course. The beer pours a crystal clear white soft foam. The foam itself is very sweet and hoppy. The smell is also very sweet and hoppy, just like the taste. The beer is very hoppy; it has a lot in common with an IPA. There is also a lot of citrusy aroma. There is also a aroma my dad and me couldn’t quite get our finger on. After a lot of tasting and smelling, we could finely define it. The beer tastes like lychees. Especially the smell is the one of lychees. Very special

One of the best spring beers you can get. Long aftertaste with a lot of freshness and some hops ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

They call it a Belgian Ale but if so hoppy that it leans towards IPA. Somewhere between, gold and orange with a nice thick, hugs the glass, lasting foamy white head. Some light floaties. Smells of lemon citrus, toasted malt, and a fruity yeast mixed with coriander. Medium oily body with soft carbonation. Very fruity sweet at first with malt and then moves to a medium bitter hoppy citrus peppery dry finish. From fruity to citrus with soft spices. A great beer to easily enjoy.

A very nice beer for the spring, as the name suggests. Like a somewhat toned down IPA, with some sweet notes. On draft.

Op de tap tijdens lentebock festival te Utrecht. Lekker van smaak. Wat opviel dat de sparkle de overhand had. Zeer goed te drinken.

Bottle at home. Yellow to orange to copper colour with a decent white head. Smells very hoppy, fresh, some grapefruit, pineapple, malts. Tastes bitter, ipa-like, hoppy, grapefruit, but also grassy, leaves and ’green’. Great carbo, medium body.

Bottle of 300 ml, at home. Pours a deep golden honey-like slighty hazy coloured beer, with two fingers of white head with great retention. It has now settled to one finger but it’s still there, creamy. Leaves heavy lacing on the glass as I drink it. Aroma is fruity and yeasty. The coriander not traceable at all. Very bitter on the taste, this is great! The bitterness of the aftertaste lingers in the mouth for a long time, even longer if you take a good big sip. Full bodt, nice carbonation and some dryness on the palate, which serves to make you go for another sip. Overall a really great beer, and it may be called spring beer but I certainly would prefer it over the so-called summer beers.
