COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Malle Babbe is a dark blond Weizen brewed with Saphyr hops as whirlpool hops. The beer should have banana and citrus flavours.

Dark weizen, dense white head. Aroma has citrus and banana, wheat. Fresh taste, like a weizen, some sweets in it, somewhat dry, fruity. Dry finish. A nice weizen variant.

Draft. An unclear amber beer with a yellowish head. The aroma has notes of wheat, cloves, and hay. The flavor is sweet with notes of wheat, bananas, cloves, and straw, leading to a dry wheaty finish.

Sampled at Jopen Amsterdam, pours brownish gold I think, edible and hash deep. Bread and light rust were the main tasting notes. Not a fan of this one.

Bottle @ home. Solid Weißen. Clear orange, if you don't pour the sediment, fine white head. Very herbal taste, not as sweet or heavy as some are. Nice

Bottle courtesy of Douberd, many thanks! Hazy orange color with big tan head, not as dark as expected from a Dunkelweizen. Aroma is fresh citrus fruits, a "Frühlingswiese" like hoppiness, some green apple skin. Taste is fruity-hoppy, again apples, some yeasty spiciness, fine-bubbled, but high carbonation, silky mouthfeel. A nice and sessionable hoppy Weizen, I like this one very much! After a few minutes, a bit of a tangy booziness comes into play, but it’s still okay. Luckily (and now understandably), this one is sold in small bottles.

Drinking from a 33cl bottle. In the aroma yeast and hops. The dark orange beer has a small brown head. In the taste caramel, a bit watery when it warms up. Low carbonated

Murky orange with white top. In Serbian Malle Babbe meaning is Little Grandmothers. I do not know the Dutch word root. Banana and citrus, Belgian yeast. Low in alcohol and simple I would say for this kind of beer.

33cl bottle. Hazy orange pour with a nice white head. Smells of caramel, bananas, overripe fruit and yeast. Taste is sweet and salty, and, of course, bitter - quite refreshing, with a medium body and medium level of carbonation.
