COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

You need to take a big gulp of it to get the full flavor of the beer but it is again a nice one. The darker, almost ryelike, flavor makes it very deep. Well done Jopen. Bottle from de Mitra in Mijdrecht.

33 cl. bottle @ home, gift from SInterklaas... Dark brown with a thin dense beige head. Caramel aroma with hints of vanilla and some coffee. Taste is very alcoholic sweet, maybe a bit too much, but underneath that is a rich palette of coffee, molasses, fruits and hops. A good beer but a bit overwhelming due to the dominant alcohol burn. Although a completely different beer I liked the Meesterstuk 2012 way better.

2012 really was a masterpiece, so I expected a lot from this one... it turned out to be a bit disapointing. Idea is okay, a extra hopped quad, but the hops don’t really convince... it’s a bit too sweet with hints of caramel and dried fruits, some alcohol... very well drinkable but never really special...

Bottle. Dark brown color. Tropical fruit and sugar candi in the aroma. Malty sweet flavor with layers of dried fruit, but also a firm grassy citric hopcharacter. Slightly alcoholic, but quite drinkable.
