UPDATED: MAR 7, 2014 Dark brown with a cream coloured head. Aroma of roasted malts, vanilla, caramel, ripe dark fruits, raisins, spices. Flavour is moderate to heavy caramel sweetness. Some hop bitterness in the finish. Pretty fine brew, Im curious as to how this will age.

Bottle from Biernavigatie.nl Pours nice and dark, caramel-coloured , good to small white head Smell has some sweetness, some oak , but is very balanced . Taste is surprisingly different than other BW . Its sweet ( sugar , but in a whole different , and rather good way ) Very full taste . Some light notes of wood . All extremely well balanced ! Just when you think the sweetness will become to much, the oak takes over, to end in a nice , almost earthy ( but not quite ) aftertaste . My second beer from the series, and so far , they ARE masterpieces . Respect for Jopen keeps going up !

Fruity and malty beer. Taste of raisin, candisugar and bread. Has a bitter note to it, with a hint of vanilla. Decent.

Sample from bottle at Winterbier Festival Gouda 2014. Pours hazy amber/reddish with a small off-white head. Aroma has lots of raisins, red fruits, plums, caramel and is quite sweet. Taste is also quite sweet and alcoholic with some red fruits, malts, raisins and a soft bitterness. Medium to full body, medium carbo.

UPDATED: JUN 20, 2014 Mooie donkere dieprode kleur. En van de beste bieren die ik het afgelopen jaar heb gedronken. Heerlijke smaakcombinatie van kruiden. Op advies laat ik er n een halfjaar rijpen. En dan is die nog lekkerder, vanille afdronk

UPDATED: JAN 24, 2014 0,33l fles tijdens proefavond biergilde hoorn. Donker amber bier met een fijne crme schuimkraag. Geur caramel grapefruit aromahop, donkere mout en rogge. Smaak is alcoholwarm met parfum en mango. Mooie volle ronde body. Erg aangenaam bier.

Drinking from a 33cl bottle. I smell perfume, alcohol, sweets, hops and strawberry lemonade. Small brownish head on a clear brown-orange beer. Its sweet, very sweet, but underneath the sweetness there is quite some bitter to make it balanced. Some carbonation, not much. Like this beer.

Bottle at home. Pours a copper color with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, some hops and surprisingly fresh. The taste is fruity, full of orange peel, some cinnamon, almost candylike sweetness, peach and some alcohol. Not too high on carbonation, a lot of sweetness and a little bitter in the aftertaste. Nice brew, will almost certainly try this again.

330 ml bottle at home, poured into a snifter. ABV 10.5% Beautyful dark red to brown colour on the body, with two fingers of thick tan head. Very good retention, medium lacing left on the glass. Aroma is fruity, berries, caramel, cookie dough, light toffee, some flower notes. Taste is sweet, again very fruity, with obvious but not annoying alcohol notes, caramel malts, cookies, some vanilla. Full body with good carbonation and a little sticky palate. Really great! Until now the best Meesterstuk I have had.
