12 oz bottle from Party Source at home. Pours a hazy amber brown color with a large fluffy beige head. The aroma and flavor have big ripe fruit, Belgian candi sugar, hints of spice, some alcohol, pretty sweet, very little carbonation, decent but too sweet with not enough balance.

Alcohol dominant in aroma with some dried fruit. Dark brown, good off-white head that persist. Moderate carbonation. Roasted coffee and fruit flavours. Medium body with moderate late bitterness, Like this beer - could have done with a bit more body

10%ABV. Belgian Quad. Tapped out black brown. 38ºSRM. Nose has aromas of bubble gum and ripe banana. Mouthfeel is thick soapy. Palate has pleasant sweet flavors with some spicy character suggesting nutmeg and cinnamon. The palate has flavors of honey, dates, ripe plums and sweet raisins, maybe even rum raisins. Alcoholic palate helps to deliver the aromatics into the hypopharynx facilitating a taste-aroma experience that connects in the mid-brain to give you an impression of a very happy Christmas. Goes on Favorites List!

330ml Bottle courtesy of Shivan Dragon, cheers! Pours an unusual reddish purple-black colour with no head and soft carbonation. The nose is very sweet and syrupy with toffee, Turkish delight, dark candied fruits and nail polish remover. Good thing I like the smell of nail polish remover. Dark, plummy fruit flavours and some sweet, heavy malts try to balance with a dry element to the finish but for me it doesn’t quite work. It’s so obviously boozy that its sweet, thick viscosity doesn’t do enough to cover it, not aided by a lack of overt hop flavours - I had hoped for a bigger hit from the American hops. There are also full, warming, woody flavours, which are a strong point, but for the most part, I’m a doubter.

From bottle in Belgian ale glass. Pours murky brown with one-finger head that was fleeting. A malty nose with a rich malt bill and a bit boozy on the palate. The hops have mellowed a bit in the journey here. Leaning toward a barley wine.

Pours dark brown with a large head. Nose shows brown sugar, golden syrup, treacle, bready malt and soft booze. Flavours include booze, sweet bready malt, brown sugar, golden syrup, prunes and figs. The booze is a bit full on.

Bottle @ Buitenlust with Thompson. Looks very dark but consistent with small foamy head. Smells quite sweet with some yeast and raisins. Tastes quite sweet with a little yeast, not hoppy or strong at all. Overall, a solid beer but nothing special in any way.
