330ml bottle. Courtesy of Papsoe. Liquor, some wood, dried fruit aromas. Pours very dark, some amber, hazy, with nice off-white head, persistent, some lacing. Medium body, average carbonation, slightly crispy texture. Taste is kind of sweet, alcohol noticed, raisins, caramel, some spicy. Well balanced. Sweet aftertaste. Enjoyable.

Pours dark amber brown with tan head. Aroma of aromatic hops, dark fruit and caramel. Flavour is moderately sweet and medium to heavy bitter. Somewhat roasted too. Good stuff.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 Douberd (625) - NETHERLANDS - MAY 2, 2013
First days of May and although there is sunshine during the day, the nights are still cold here in the Netherlands, so why not a winter beer..Bottle, 330 ml at home, poured into a snifter. BB 10/13. ABV 10%
Unfortunately I saw the sediment too late, so I poured most of it into the glass. The result was a very deep and hazy amber brown coloured beer, with big chunks floating in the body. Two fingers of soapy, light beige head with quite good retention. Medium lacinf left on the glass.
Aroma is mostly of sweet milk chocolate, with discreet alcohol notes, that are making the aroma quite pleasant and appealing.
Taste of roasted malts, quite sweet at first, with lots of chocolate, obvious alcohol, some little vanilla too. Moderate bitterness on the aftertaste, very good.
Medium thick body, carbonation above average, but not annoying at all. Quite dry palate.
Overall, another great beer from Jopen.

Bardzo smaczne. mocny dziesiecio procentowy alkohol sprytnie ukryty, ale mimo to finisz rozgrzewajacy. Intensywny aromat amerykanskiego chmielu. Smak slodko przyprawowy, korzenny pyszny. Piana spora i trwala kolor ciemno bordowy z niewielkim zamgleniem pochodzacym od drozdzy znajdujacych sie w niewielkich ilosciach w butelce.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 bartlebier (459) - Baden-Württemberg, GERMANY - APR 7, 2013
33cl, part of Dutch sampler from bierenzo - Very aromatic and tasty caramel and dark fruits Am strong ale with a great fresh hop offset and no exaggerated sweetness. Lovely velvet mouthfeel and subtle fruity yeast. Truly a seasonal winter warmer, due to the noticeable and unfortunately slightly distracting 10% ABV-fumes - glad spring hasn’t yet set in at the beginning of April this year.

Bottle. Brown muddy. Sweet brown barley wine- like maltiness, with spicy hoppy notes. Body is surprisingly light, with peppery hops, some licorice, spices, some chocolate. Very tasty and nice ale. Not too heavy and no sign of alc even though the hefty abv.
