Nice. A bit like the Texels stormbock. I drunk this about a year after purchase: it very for aging. Strong, dark and handsome. Should have been called Mr. Darcy.

Bottle. Pours ruby/brown with a frothy tan head. Aroma: very floral, herbs, resin (pine), citrus, caramel. Taste: fairly sweet, light bitter (not quite as much as you’d expect from the aroma), herbal, earthy, chocolate. Medium body, soft carbonation, warming sweet finish with a lingering bitter. Interesting beer.

330 ml bottle shared with Calm_Dreamer. Ruby to light brown color with a nearly red thin head. Aromas of caramel and maybe some sugar. Taste was really faint, only caramel and burnt sugar. Maybe some plums? Mild aftertaste, very sweet. Medium to full body with medium carbonation.

Proeflokaal Arendsnest, Amsterdam tap: Pours medium brown with a small beige creamy head. Aroma is lightly boozy, fruity, and quite malty. The taste sort of reminds me of a quadruppel. I found the hoppiness to be rather light. Mostly just pretty sweet. Not too heavily bodied for a barley wine.
