Pours mahogany into a snifter. Off-white head with medium retention recedes leaving spot lacing to skim surface. Sweet caramel and spice aromas. Sweet pit fruit and chalky anise. Lasting bitter spice finish.

Bottle at home. Hazy dark brown color with a reddish tint and a solid foamy off-white head. Aroma is full of caramel, resin, pine hops, somewhat grassy and with some dark fruits. Flavor is caramel, licorice, bitter spices, pine hops and a bit grassy. Somewhat sweet at first but also quite dry in the finish. Remarkably complex. A hit of sharpness, but overall quite awesome.

[Thanks to bierkoning]. 33cl bottle. Brown colour with a formation of a large, creamy and tan head with an excellent lasting. Aroma is hoppy, slightly sweet and malty. Flavour is moderate sweet, malty, slightly bready, alcoholic and with a final with a decent bitterness. Carbonation is medium. Body is medium to high.

Dark brown, nice lasting off-white head. Poured all the yeast into the glass, which is floating around. Taste is an interesting combination of chocolate, hops, yeast, cellar, dust, alcohol and black fruit.

Had this on a number of occassions this season, but first had it at the Kerstbierfestival in Essen in 2011. Has a funky sweet smell. Appears a cloudy brownish gold. Yeasty flavor.

15cl bottle sample @ Kerstbierfestival ’11, Essen. Hazy dark orange, small orange/white head. Nose : Citrus (grapefruit) , maybe some other dark fruits, caramel and bread malts. Sip : Almost creamy full body with small carbonation . Sweet malts are overpowered by a hit of bitter and aromatic hops. Bubblegum and fruity esters (cherry) surroundings.

Dark, ripe fruits in the aroma together with a hint of alcohol. There’s a strong alcohol aspect to the flavour but also some bittersweet dark, syrupy fruits. Strange texture that kind of evaporates on the tongue.
