Light unclear medium to dark red - brown amber color with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, light beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, dark overriped fruit, licorice notes. Flavor is heavy sweet and light bitter with a long duration, chocolate malt, wood, bread. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20101022]

Bottled@fonefan. Hazy ambery colour with not too much head. Aroma is caramel malts, some syrup, mild alcohol as well as some slight raisins as well. Flavour is fruits, raisins, alcohol, plum and some slight syrupy notes. Rather pleasant Barley Wine.

A bottle shared with my work mates at ’t Arendsnest, Amsterdam. Cloudy brown beer, small tan head. Light aged malt nose. Soft creamy palate. Caramel, creamy malt. Mild licorice spice. Finishes soft and dry. Not bad but just lacks a little cohesion.

(750ml bottle) clearish dark amber, soapy offwhite bubbles. Nose of caramel, raisin, oak, rich, but not my favorite. Taste of raisin, alcohol, burnt caramel, marshmallow, rich but too alcoholic overall, even with the age.

Light hints of fruit in the smell, good body and carbonation, but the taste lacks a bit.

On tap at In de Wildeman. Cloudy copper brown, lacing yellowish head. Malty caramel- very solid. Full-bodied. Nothing exciting, just very nice and solid.

On tap at Wildeman. Dark brown with medium head. Floral and fruity nose. Taste of breads, malts and barley. Also grapes, mango and fruits. Quite sweet. Rich and syrupy texture. Quite nice.

75cl, new exclusive Dutch brew Anno 2010, from De Bierkoning Amsterdam, complex brew, not too heavy, yet balanced, cloudy, good head, good brew, but expensive, yet very original label!

Bottle @ Arendsnest. The aroma has raisins, orange, sugar, spices (cinnamon, clove) an dcaramel. Slightly hazy, dark brown coloured beer with an off-white-beige head. The taste is sweet, caramel, fruity and spicy. Full bodied, belly-warming. Very nice.

Tap @ Wildeman. Cloudy light brownish color, medium creamy off-white head. Aroma of caramel, bit nutty, hint of spices. Taste of caramel and toffee, bit dry, some alcohol present. Pretty good actually.
