Clear light brown with decent light brown foam head. Aroma is sweet caramel, but also some nice hop. Taste is not too sweet for a bokbier, nice. Short caramel aftertaste. (Haarlem 201304)

Zeer donkerbruin bier met medium beige kraag. Metalig in de neus, aroma van geroosterd malt, noten. Smaak ook wat bitterdroog met lichte zoete tonen. Zacht co2, licht cremeďg in de mond.

Deep orange brown with a frothy, creamy, nice lacy, lasting beige head. Smells of toasted malt, light roast and chocolate, caramel, nut with nice soft spices. Medium thin body with soft carbonation. Nice toasted malt and caramel sweetness with a medium bitter roasted dry finish. Nice spices balance it out. A good bock and very nice to drink.

0,33 l shared bottle. Bought at marqt near Rembrandtsplein in Amsterdam. Clear deep ruby colored body verging on black. Creamy light brown fingerthick head. Raisins, malts and roasted nuts on the nose. Malty full bodied and smooth. Alco warm. Hints of nuts and chocolate.

330 ml shared bottle, as Jopen Bokbier, Viergranen is not mentioned on the label. Thanks to abemorsten! ABV is 6.5%. Dark ruby colour, large beige head. Dusty and malty aroma, hints of cigarbox as the beer warms up a lttle. Medium sweet flavour, malts, caramel, rye bread, mild roasty notes. Nice to drink.

330 ml, long neck brown bottle, ABV 6,5%, at home, poured into a snifter.
Pours a very dark brown coloured beer, with a good two finger beige, creamy head, with average retention.
Aroma of roasted malts, coffee and on the background slight caramel and alcohol.
Taste is sweet at first, giving its place to a light pleasant bitterness. Roasted malts and dark chocolate.
Medium to full body, light carbonation.
A very tasty bock.

22 Oct 2012 in Valkenburg, Holland: Cafe De Grendelpoort is having a Bockfest and this was one of the brews on-tap.
Very dark, most likely the darkest Bok I saw during my stay in Holland. The head was also the whitest I saw on a Bok this time around.
The aroma and taste were of roasted but not burnt malts with red berry notes in both the smell and mouth flavours. Coffee, prunes and plums can be added to the taste thoughts as this is a complex and interesting beer.
Medium bodied and easy to drink: pity there were so mant to try, or I could have stayed on this for another one or three!

The head is ok, the body black. It smells a bit sweet, a bit malty, a and a bit chocolate. The taste is soft, a bit darkmalty, roasty, creamy, nice chocolate. Overall balanced and tasty, very nice! 12/13/12/12/-/12

Furcsák ezek a holland baksörök. Ez is egészen sötétvörös, üledékes, nagyon vékony barnás habbal, ami inkább hasonlít egy forrásban lévő vörösborhoz, mint sörhöz. Illata is meggyboros, fahordós, élesztős kissé kormos. Ízében is döntően ott a meggy, fahordós érlelés, boros, fanyarkás, csokis, pörkölt magvas. Utóíze is fanyar és keserédes, érdekes. Fura figura de iható.
