Tap@ABF 2014. Appearance: clear ruby with nice thick beige head. Aroma: lots of sweet fruit, perfume. Taste: figs and figs, very sweet, some bitter. Palate: full bodied sweet bitter, medium CO2. Overall: Over the top, not my beer, too much figs.

On keg at Jopenkerk Haarlem and last of the night - Cloudy murky brown body, with a thin off white head and some broken lace. The aroma is rich cherries, lots of dark cake fruits. The flavour is very sweet with a rich creamy caramel toffee marzipan taste. Great syrupy mouthfeel, but not one I could finish in a rush when we were asked to leave for closing time.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Mitra Beilen. Brown with a beige head. Aroma of sweet toffee and figs. Taste is overwhelming sweet. Figs dominate all with a cloying sweetness just behind that. Normally Jopen is a standard for quality but this one is a sticky mess in my opinion.

UPDATED: AUG 13, 2014 Smells and tastes like apple syrup (rinse appelstroop). Looks like coffee with to much watter (doesn’t look tasty). Tastes of cofee, dried fruit, candy sugar and dried orange. Syrupy. Good for what it is, but not my thing...

Bottle @ Papsø. Pours murky and very chunky with a light brown head. Aroma is sweet and perfumed with all sorts licorice, labre larver (butter), artificial, dark overripe fruit and spice. Taste is cloyingly sweet. Body is near medium, texture is thin and almost sticky, carbonation is moderate. There’s no way I’d ever drink a glass of this.

Bottle at Papsø. Clear orange-red coloured with a medium sized off-white head. Sweet and fruity aroma of caramel, dried fruits and licorice with notes of tobacco. Sweet and fruity flavour of caramel, tobacco and dried fruits. Sweet finish.

Bottled. A murky brown beer with a tan head. The aroma has notes of apples, oranges, and figs. The flavor is very sweet with notes of figs and malt, leading to a dry finish.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a cloudy, nutty brown with a beige head. Very odd aroma - sort of licorice all sorts, but then again not really. Rich, sweet body, extremely sweet, extremely cloying, coconutish and spicy. Doesn’t remind me of figs at all. No hops or balance. The other beers in this series were actually good, but this is hardly drinkable. 080614

Bottle @ tasting. Aroma is candied fruits, caramel, artifical red fruit syrup. Flavour is caramel, fruits, some yeast, again a bit artificial.
