COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"Witte Rook" is onze gerookte blonde Weizenbock.

Heerlijk zachte afdronk.

Tap tasted on 24/06/2014. Hazy medium orange colour with a medium persistent white head. Weak aroma of citrus, malts and smoke. The flavour is not well balanced between the malts and the smoke. Not a memorable smoke beer. Next one please!

(Draught at Jopenkerk, Haarlem, 27 Feb 2014) Hazy golden colour with dense, off-white head. Malty, slightly smoky nose with notes of white bread, banana and gentle smoke aromas. Malty, slightly smoky taste with banana, peaches, white bread and gentle hints of smoke. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness. Quite tasty, with a fairly gentle smoke character. Quite nice.

Tap at the Jopenkerk. Poured a hazy light amber with a big frothy white head. The aroma is light smoke light yeast. The flavour is neutral herb veg with a smooth light smoke light fruit light malt, yeast palate. Pretty light everything actually including the smoke, which is rather unusual for a smoke beer! Medium bodied with average carbonation.

330ml bottle. Cloudy orangey dark golden to amber colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head, Fruity, wheat malty aroma, hints of pear, peach and banana, slightly unpleasant backgroundish smoke note has hints of peat, cold ashes and sere dog dejection. Taste is of the same mixture with intensening smoke notes; unbalanced, oscillating between if not incompatible then seemingly improper components; not completely bad though. Finally a ’centre of a seesaw’-rating.

Hazy orange amber, tiny off-white head, dissipates quickly, hardly any lacing; nose at first smoked, bacon, burned wood, followed by wheat, bread, banana, dough, orange peel, citrus; medium sweet, some banana, cloves, mildly smoked; medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, finish dry bitter, woody kinda smoky. Not that strong smoked as a rauchbier, smokiness more in the background.

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2014 Pours a hazy dark orange. Aroma consist mostly of smoke and some wheats, with an aftertaste reminiscent of smoked bacon or smoked salmon. You get the idea, this is all about smoke.

Smokey white beer with a hint of smoked ham. Nice to drink, but not too memorable.
