"Witte Rook" is onze gerookte blonde Weizenbock.

Incrdible smoke smell. First sip also has a stromg smoke/malt taste that slowly fades away bit always sticks around. Very nice and characteristic beer from Jopen.

On tap @ Arendsnest. Smoked hefeweizen, I thought it was a combination that wouldn’t work, but it did, and surprisingly well. All the aroma’s of a good hefeweizen: wheat, juicy fruit, some banana/clove/vanilla and then some smoke, not too strong but clearly present. Flavor is ever so slightly sweet, grainy, smoky. Medium bodied, that helped too. Dryish somewhat bitter finish. Very pleasant surprise.

My first white smoked beer. Draught. Looks like a white beer with a small white head. Very nice aroma, fruity wiith berries. A small note of smoke, but not too much. The taste is good, with smoke and fruit and a wonderful bitter finish. I really like the way the smoketaste is made subtle and not too intrusive, besides, this must be one of the fullest beers marketed with the word "witte".

Bottle. Brewed with Hallertau Mittelfrue, interesting. Same like the saphyr they brew with. Are they doing those de Molen-like typo’s on purpose? Hazy golden color, medium slight off-white head. Aroma of soft dry smoke, banana, hint of clove, some fruity hop. Nice combination of beechwood smoke and weizen. Quite dry in taste with again some dry smokeyness and banana. Finishes with the dry woody smoke. Could have used a little more sweetness/body, instead it finishes on the dry side. Overall the intensity of the smoke is medium and the smoke is more woody than bacon or peat-like, which I think is the best fit for a weizen-like style. Good beer.

Hazy orange gold with a thick, foamy, lacy, lasting white head. Smells of smoke fills the air once the bottle is opened, yeast, caramel with some wheat/banana, cloves, vanilla and some sourness. A smoked witbier interesting. Smells a bit musky. Medium thin body with soft carbonation. Tastes like slightly burnt malt which gives the impression of bacon, banana, vanilla and yeast and mild fruitiness. Some citrus tartness in the dry finish but with a lingering smokiness. The smoke was not to powerful and such not overwhelming the drink. It was interesting and I proved to my friends that a beer can taste like BBQ. I enjoyed drinking it but I wouldn’t have it again.

Pours a nice orange beer with a good white head. Smells fruity. I expected smoke aroma. There were some hints but not much. The taste contained morr smoke. A bit dull beer. But nice

A tapped wooden barrel atop the bar at Arends Nest. Hazy gold beer, little white head. Light palate. A little dry. Low carbonation. Sweetish malt - somewhat tripel like. Mellow smoke, clear and present but never overwhelming. Nicely judged! Finishes a tiny bit dry with a trace of bubblegum and some subtle wood. Alright - fresh pleasant drinking smoked beer.

On 8th KBC 2011. A hazy yellow/golden colored beer, with a thick foamy white head. The aroma of smoked malts, a little sour with some fruits. The taste is fresh smoked malt with fruits in the back. The aftertaste is dry smoked with some bitter.

My first white beer with smoke. Was a very nice suprise, didn’t suspect too much of it. Nice yellow/orange color with a good head. Smells like citrus, banana and smoke. Taste was very good with some citrus, vanilla, bacon and smoke. Aftertaste was too high

Bottle @ brewday. Aroma is yeasty banana, some smokey malt and slight caramel. Flavour is light smoke, some banana and others fruity esters. Nice.
