COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Deze zware Smoked Porter heeft bijna 4 maanden gerijpt op Wild Turkey Bourbon vaten. Hierdoor zijn naast de smaken van de Peated Malt ook hout-, vanille- en whiskytonen in het bier herkenbaar.

Bottle from Lekkerbier, BB Jan 2015, large sample. Dkar brown color, big light brown head. Aroma of big vanilla, slight peat, bit oak, roast, chocolate. Bit sweet taste, bit bitter, more peat and smoke comes through in flavor. Peat usually makes a beer dry, but the vanilla gives a sense of being more creamy. Smoke and vanilla are fighting a bit. You can call it complex, or you can call it a bit unbalanced. Fact remains, it is very likeable.

Bottle. Black in color with a slightly tanned head. Smoke, roasted malts and bourbon mixed with peat in aroma. Later on also some more darker notes of leather and tobacco appears. Bourbon and vanilla notes in taste, some bitter notes in the middle and in the end you get some quite nice peaty notes lingering all over. Subtle smokey notes in finish. As a sipper you get to enjoy these flavors for quite a while. Nice one.

330ml bottle. Opaque black colour with average to huge, thick, frothy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, tan head. Peat and Whisky notes, oak, leather, some vanilla. Taste is extremely dry oaky, cautious hints of peat, a touch of tarmac. Nice aroma, almost awful taste, unbalanced and overdone. Bummer!

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a dark brown to black with a medium tan head and an aroma of bourbon, syrup, cherries, smoked malts, pure chocolate, espresso, oak and raisins. The taste is heavy sweet with pretty complex notes of heavy roasted malts, bourbon, oak and spices. The finish is pretty long and bitter. A really nice complex beer.

Am I the only one who tasted a clear drop tone here? Drop is a typical dutch candy which an be sweet or salty. Very good beer.

Aroma of dark malt, peat, oak, some bourbon, plum, vanilla, liquorice. Flavour is malty and peaty, some vanilla and liquorice sweetness, with a dry finish. I was a little bit disappointed to find liquorice instead of the promised smoke. Still, a nice brew with a good aroma.

Bottle from Douberd and shared by MichaelAwesome - many thanks! I was really, REALLY, afraid of this beer but I must say: WOW! The best smoked beer I ever had and this because it wasn’t smokey at all :) Pours out in a deep black colour with low smooth head and medium body. Aroma of plums, prunes and torf. Taste of plums, roasted barley, red wine, prunes, bread and cake. Wonderful easy to drink, enjoyed it a lot.

33 cl bottle @ PBF IX.
Pours dark ruby red color with a small head. Salmiac and dark malts on the aroma, some dark fruits and some smoky notes. Caramel malts, licorice, some dark ripe fruit notes and wood. Quite nice surprise.
