Black with tan foam dissipating quickly. Non resinous surface. Soft feel, round medium heavy body. Creamy. Drinkable. Bushy green hops. Finishes lightly sweet. Touch of vanilla. not as bristling, acidic and bright than the lagunitas west had side by side. Interesting and personable.

22oz, red waxed bottle. Poured a black color with brown edges and a thin sized tan head. Lots of oaky / woodiness. Chocolate, roast, some vanilla, and some bourbon in the tastes.

Dark ebony pour with a small latte head. Cocoa, bourbon-forward, oak, vanilla, coffee, and caramel. Unfortunately, even at 9.5%, the alcohol is noticeable and a bit cloying. Not bad but not at all in the world-class category.

Rich sweet chocolate roast nose, malty mouthfeel with big bourbon undertones. Very good beer, can’t drink too much, great sipper.

The red waxed 22oz bomber pours with a nice deep dark body that supports a nearly firm tall mocha colored head that faded in a few minutes to a thin ring. The aroma offers up sweet smooth bourbon, molasses covered oak, a bit of malt infused vanilla and then chocolate brownie along with some dark roasted malts. The taste comes across a bit thin and not really as silky as you expect it to be. Nonetheless this has pleasing soft bourbon notes, some vanilla and then a nice mix of dark roasted malts, chocolate brownies, vague bitter hops and then a slight boozy burn. Pretty nice sipper.

Poured from a 22 ounce bomber. Poured with a good sized tan head that dissipated quickly. The aroma is bourbon, coconut, nutty, chocolate, slight hot alcohol notes. The flavor is warming alcohol, bourbon, chocolate, coconut, rich maltiness. This is a solid imperial stout.

22oz bottle, with silver wax. Black color. Thin ring of light brown head. Some bits of lace. Oak, bourbon nose. Dark chocolate, light spice. Some coffee. Light oxidization. Bigger body. Good chewy texture to it. Light carbonation. Moderate to bigger bitter taste. Light sweet. Light bit of heat on it. Decent, interesting kind of assertive stout. Not bad.

Black pour with a brown head. The aroma has a ton of chocolate notes as well as some oak and roasted malt. The flavor is similar but with some more complexities. I get a lot of chocolate, roasted malt, coffee and cream. As the beer warms I get some oak and whiskey notes, but the alcohol burn is not too present in the flavor. Thick mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Very nice beer.

Bottle shared at Swamp Head Bottle Drop release today. Pours brownish black with a small khaki head. Aroma of heavy bourbon, light chocolate, and some roast. Flavor follows with what seems more like peat whiskey to me than bourbon, some vanilla, chocolate, very smoky and roasty, low sweetness. At first I wasn’t a fan but this grew on me a little bit as I sipped through my small glass. Medium plus body with low to medium carbonation. Just a very unique bourbon presence here. Overall worth trying, but I probably won’t return to this one.
