@ Yardbird, Vegas. Hearty near black pour, light brown head that recedes to a persistent patina. Brothy malty aroma with high bourbon notes in balance, robust bourbon barrel character black malts, chocolate, light soy sauce, hints of dark fruits. Finish has moderate bitterness in good balance.

Bottle. Not sure of year but it is silver wax and hand numbered #277. Pours opaque black with a medium tan head that dissipates leaving decent lacing. Aroma is rich roasty chocolate with anise notes as well as bourbon and vanilla. Flavor is fairly sweet but with good compensating bitterness, bourbon and oaky vanilla present but do not overpower the underlying roasty mocha molasses notes. Full body, creamy mouthfeel. Actually really well put together. I admit I had low expectations, but this has far exceeded them.

2015 vintage. 650 ml bottle thanks to willrunforbeer, pitch black color with low carbonation level. Aroma is really nice, molasses, vanilla, coffee grinds with a nicely integrated bourbon barrel. I could just smell this for awhile, great!

Flavor has the nicely integrated bourbon that lasts through the duration of the sip. Light charred wood and lasting oak after the swallow. Warming sensation from the alcohol without any alcohol flavor. Honestly a very fine job with this brew. Higher end.
