3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sample at GABF 2013. Pours amber orange with an impressive head. Powerful aroma of orange, tangerine, and grapefruit. Medium body with lively carbonation. Surprising lack of rye spiciness. Sweet malt body with plenty of bitterness to cover it up. Overall, an interesting beer.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Aces and Ales 2. Pours a clear yellowish gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges and laces. Aroma has a nice combination of citrus and rye with a touch of resin underlying. Flavor has the same citrus and pine combination that is really well balanced throughout.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A golden ale with a thin white head. In aroma, pleasant floral hops, with nice citrusy character, light Belgian overtones of fruity esters. In mouth, a nice grassy malt with loads of citrusy hops, flowers, very nice.

Taste is fruity, orange peel, soapy, grapefruit, lightly floral, and a touch of spicy rye with a medium bitter finish. Medium body with high carbonation. Well-balanced, fruity, sweet, crisp, and hoppy. Pretty tasty IPA.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
This has a great fresh hop aroma. Looks nice. This is a pretty solid beer. The rye is hard to detect though the pale ale is quite tasty nonetheless. A tad creamy. One of their best beers yet.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at Aces and Ales. This is an R&D beer for Joseph James. Pours a pale orange with a foamy head. Powerful aroma of orange, tangerine, and grapefruit. Medium/light body with lively carbonation. Citrus flavors are prominent for a beer that calls itself a pale ale. More like a RyePA but the rye spiciness really doesn’t present itself. Sweet malt body with plenty of bitterness to cover it up. This is a good beer. It just doesn’t match the title.
