2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 dimenhetfield (2378) - , Florida, USA - JUN 9, 2013
12oz can poured into glass. While I was intrigued by having a DIPA out of a can this one didn’t really live up to my expectations. There just wasn’t enough hop character to it and it was overall pretty boring.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 umich03jm (986) - Allen Park, Michigan, USA - JUN 1, 2013
Can, extra from trade with my friend Randy in Arizona. Pours a clear golden orange color with a big, thick foamy head that fades very slowly, leave some lacing. Fairly faint aroma of musty grass hops and pale malt. Taste is stale, bitter hops with no sweetness to balance. Very strong bitterness. Light caramel malt backbone. Overpowering oily mouthfeel which also makes it a little thinner than I like. Overall, bitter hop bomb and the hops aren’t even fresh. Not a very good Imperial IPA.

A nicely balanced IPA. Not as intense as some other raters suggested. Good maltiness and a tangy hoppiness.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 beerbastard (511) - Mesa, Arizona, USA - MAY 12, 2013
Can poured amber with some lacing. Malty carmel nose. Sweet bread like malts with some chocolate in the background. It lacks the hop flavors and bitterness to balance. Not the cleanest finish, a little harsh.

Can:   Amber, clear, slightly fiery, moderate off-white batter like head, fairly nice lacing.   Seems like a fairly strong rich biscuity and caramel nose.   Moreso on the caramel side.   Sweet pithy flavor,
citrusy, moderate malt base, not too bitter or hoppy.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Seems like a weak malty IPA if you ask me.   Not much about this says Imperial IPA, not big in malts nor hops.   It certainly
isn’t all that bitter either.   Its not bad, its just overall light.

Bottle, Vegas, somewhere on the strip. Malt forward IPA, breadcrusts and caramel share the stage with piney hops. Moderate bitterness. I liked it. Fuck you,

22oz bottle picked up at Lee’s Discount
Appearance: Pours clear golden with a medium sized off-white head and good lacing
Aroma: Grapefruit and pine resin
Taste: Fruity, caramel and pine resin
This is my kind of IIPA, great. Hoppy but not over the top bitterness. I would love to try this fresh. Next time I’m in Las Vegas I need to find this on tap.

This beer is a kick in the teeth. It’s all hops and nothing else. There is nothing else to detect in the taste, poor execution overall.

Can @ home. Pours clear burnt orange with a large, frothy white head, long retention with good lacing. Aroma is fresh, green and wet hops with grassy and citrus notes, apple, pear, and peach fruity esters with honey and biscuit malt. Flavor is moderate hops and subdued bitterness with stale malt, light fruity esters, and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation with light alcohol warmth.

Pours hazy dark orange. A very grapefruity aroma, almost overpowering and not fresh. The flavor is dominated by the hops, perhaps too much. There is a distinct bitterness that tapers off toward the end leaving a pleasant, mellow dryness on the back of the tongue. This is its most redeeming quality.
