Bottle from Pacific Liquor: Appeared as an opaque glowing orange that had tons of sediment floating about while a frothy topping of head rested on top. Aroma is bad and has no evidence of being an Imperial IPA and smells more like a Raisin Bran cereal. The flavor is putrid with a taste of stale hops and malts that have clearly expired past their prime. Its almost as if Iím drinking a pure malt beverage such as Goya that has no hops of yeast added to the drink. Awful stuff and clearly should have been pulled off the selling shelves long time ago.

Hop hazed orange, strong carbonation, big head, its been a long time any many beers later since I seen a head bigger than half inch. They seem far and few .Lots of thick lacing. The aroma delivers well with fruit/floral.Ripe/tropical maybe fruit with sweet pastry breadiness.Pungent with some spice.Pretty nice. Creamy mouthfeel medium/full body. Candied carmel malt/ juiceyhop taste. Sweet pastry note.Sweet finish then a creeping bitterness elevates to linger. Piney smooth refined bittering. Almost mint or menthol like most likely from the strength of this but not too boozy or alcoholy. Its kind of a milder version of Hopslam/Hoptimum. These kind of doubles are not my favorate but this is a pretty good beer. I love a good Maharaja, but in generall a good 6-8% ipa is good for me,if well made.Good ocassional IIPA to have.

12 oz. can from my local grocery store pours a clear golden color with big fluffy off-white head and good lacing. Smells like an IIPA with citrus and floral hops. Aroma is the same, with lots of caramel malts. Taste is sweet at first with a bitter finish as expected, but something in the sticky boozy malty mess isnít quite right. Body is medium, and mouthfeel is sticky with slight carbonation. I love IIPAs, but this is the worst one Iíve tried from a can (and only one bottled one - which was actually a malt liquor with an IIPA label) has been a greater disappointment.

Super hazy golden coloured body with a thick, two centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of pineapple, pine, resin and a nice bright hop smell with tons of alcohol and a decent amount of sweetness. Medium-bodied; Strong pine and resinous hop notes with a good pineapple sweetness with a pungent malt backbone and a nice fruity flavour with some good complexity on the finish. Aftertaste is mostly pungent resinous and piney hops, but a good malt backbone, some strong alcohol and a nice smooth complexity. Overall, a nice imperial ipa in a CAN, and according to the rankings, but better than I expected. Iíd easily get this one again if I could find it all over the place. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Total Wine in Tustin, California on 04-August-2012 for US$1.79 sampled at home in Washington on 07-October-2012.

0.65l bottle shared with The Tasting Crew. This is a light cloudy honey-colored one with a small bubbly off-white head. A bit fruity, but tons of malty, sweet caramel with sweet dried fruits on the aroma. A bit concentrated and sweet. Oh, the taste is quite pungent and sweet. Lotís of boozy tones swirling around here. The texture is shockingly thin and watery. Feels like the flavors lie on the bottom of the glass and itís just water up on the top. Strange strange. Cactus finish with some sweet raisins. Mysterious. 27.07.2012

Alcohol burn overwhelmed the malt and hops. First ipa in a long time that Iíve poured put before finishing. Not impressed

Bottle 650ml @ ClubGonzo
Pours slightly hazy amber with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, raisin and dried fruits. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and light to medium bitter with a long sirup sweet and caramel finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Poured from a can. Deeply golden with a lasting froth. Smells very fresh and piny with a touch sweetness. Full on the tongue with a silky, creamy texture. This high octane brew is a classic. High hop rate, fat malt body with an excellent sense of freshness. Pour me another will ya?

Can. Pours hazy gold with an off white head. Herbal and floral hops, lighter fruity notes, and a lightly sweet malty base. Just a touch of harsh bitterness in the finish. Nice enough.
