Because of the generosity of a fellow member I was able to try this beer from a new state. It wasnít very exceptional as far as imperial IPAs. On the other hand it does knock out Nevada which reduces the number of states even more. If this is the calling card for the state than I doubt I will be hurrying to try any more.

Aroma / Appearance - A shock white head was bright against the caramel opaque body. A light orange tint around the edges was the color of the rising sun. Rosy floral hops, caramel, honey, and chocolate raisin bread are generally tropical in nature. A bit heavy handed it is a little flawed but not majorly off kilter.

Flavor / Palate - Chewy pine nuts and chocolate muffins mixed evenly. Caramel notes in the background add a bit of depth but do not make it more interesting past the third sip. The mouthfeel is a little cloying and syruppy. Overall it is decent but slightly below average. All the elements are there for a good experience - it is just that they donít quite fit together seamlessly.

It poured a hazy copper color with an off-white head. The aroma was of moderate earthy hoppiness and sweet maltiness. The taste was similar with soft carbonation and a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Nicely done.

Have to say for an imperial IPA, it's kinda lackluster, does have an even amount of malt and hops but it fails to give off a extra punch of either, though strong it hides it's abv very well, not a session, drink carefully ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz can Slightly hazy pale amber body with a decent head and some sticky lacing. Quite hoppy, in line with the DIPA style. Fruity and piney/resiny qualities.

Sampled @ The Pub in the Monte Carlo. Bright 14 karat pour with hints of tangerine and a small ivory head. Aroma is citrus, grapefruit, and tropical fruit. Flavor is candied oranges, subtle resin, and caramel. ABv well hidden. Medium mouthfeel.

Thanks to Wittales in the local 3.14 swap. Pours a clear golden orange from the can with bubbly off-white head that dissipates to leave moderate lace. Aroma is light, but resinous citrus from the heavy cascade and a faint sweet maltiness. Taste is bigger, but a hint of soapy middle, bitterness takes over and lingers. Soft carbonation, good balance, minimal booziness, not bad.

12oz bottle poured into a snifter. Pours a clear amber with about a finger of thick white head. Aroma of citrus, caramel, pine and tropical fruits. Taste is medium bitter and light sweet. Mostly caramel and citrus. Medium bodied with a creamy texture. Overall, very good. Not as good as some other beers out there, but I would gladly drink this any day.

12 oz. can from Total Wine - Pours a hazy amber color with a two finger thick off white head. Light lacing. Aroma is toasted malt. Did I mention the aroma is toasted malt. Whereís the hops? This is a 2IPA, correct? Maybe I got a old can? The flavor isnít any better. The finish is fairly smooth and has a hint of pineapple. Medium body. Alcohol is fairly well hidden. The beer isnít bad, itís just not a 2IPA. NO HOPS!

12oz bottle brought over by JoetheYounger, thanks Joe. Rating #14. Appearance is dark brown with a little orange around the edges, pretty dark for a double IPA. Big citrus aroma, grapefruit mainly, but there is a little orange sweetness as well. Light sweetness, mild hops and more grapefruit, but pretty nicely balanced, not too shabby. (1203)

Relatively smooth for a strong beer, orange amber with abundant creamy off white head. Hoppy, piney aroma leads to very astringent taste, sharp bitterness lingers long after. Still smooth enough to mask to the high abv. Nicely done.
