2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Can, extra from trade with my friend Randy in Arizona. Pours a clear golden orange color with a big, thick foamy head that fades very slowly, leave some lacing. Fairly faint aroma of musty grass hops and pale malt. Taste is stale, bitter hops with no sweetness to balance. Very strong bitterness. Light caramel malt backbone. Overpowering oily mouthfeel which also makes it a little thinner than I like. Overall, bitter hop bomb and the hops arenít even fresh. Not a very good Imperial IPA.

Dark color - dark amber or brown. Not much head. Dank aroma, sweet and of molasses and spices. Taste is sweet and a bit malty. Not a lot of bitterness or hop flavor though. Itís still fairly decent.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
12oz can. Pours a clear amber golden with dense head and plenty of sticky lacing. Very sweet up front and not much in the way of hops. First thing that comes to mind is pineapple upside down cake. Canned pineapple, hint of orange, caramel doughy cake malt, bit of alcohol heat in there as I warms and opens. Sweet up front, caramel and tea malts, candied pineapple, some stronger onion hop flavors try to poke through, but are just beat down by the sweet malt flavors. Better that the score suggests, but not my style.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12oz bottle courtesy of here4beer! Pours amber/orange with a small white head. Aroma is a candied citrus with honey and caramel, slightly tropical. Taste begins with light hops, into citrus with sweet fruits and caramel, finishing bitter into sweet. Alcohol is hidden pretty well, over all not bad, but lacking the hop presence of a nice DIPA.

Bottle from Leeís Discount Liquor in Vegas. Pours a very murk brown color with not much head. Aroma is basically all sweet pineapple. Taste is mildly bitter and sweet with some caramel. Not too bad. Definitely does not taste like 8.2%

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from BelgianBeerGal - THANKS! Not much aroma at all on this one - but there is a malt backbone thatís pretty strong. Aroma is light malt and some grassiness. Flavor has grapefruit and grass, along with malt. Not great, not horrible.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Can. Pours a hazy golden yellow color with a nice wispy white head. Nose is citrus and sweet with pine and resin. Taste is pleasant bitterness with appreciable sweetness in between. The citrus taste is not as strong as the nose. Finish is long and bathes the palate with bitterness. A solid DIPA, but not a classic . quaff score 7 / 10

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A clear, deep copper pour with a light tan head. There is a floral and pine hop aroma, but with a slight damp basement smell mixed in. The medium body has a somewhat sticky texture with average carbonation. The taste is sweet on the tip of the tongue while a little bitter in the back. This is followed by a boozy finish.
