Bottle. Well last to rate my own shared bottle, figures. Hazy brune pour with some whitish head. Maybe this was an off bottle or what not but the hops have disintegrated, and are giving a soapy flavor off. Malty finish with some warming.

Local bottle at home celebrating 2 Dec 09! Pours a turbid light brown colour with a small white head and some bubbly lacing. Big aroma of sweet pink grafruit hops and caramel malt plus a little spice in the finish. VERY balanced flavour with a relatively short, sweet, perfumey finish. Just a little bitterness lingers. Maybe a little light on the hop notes but not the bitterness if that makes any sense. Good effort from these guys though as they just get started.

Bottle @ America Strikes Back, Ulfborg. Pours hazy light amber with small white head. Clear aroma of hops, with notes of fruit and citrus. Intense, bitter, hoppy flavour, with subtle, sweetish fruity notes, ending on a dry and acidic note. Bitter aftertaste. Decent.

Can thanks to Brian! Pours crystal clear orange with a medium creamy off-white head that dissipates slowly with good lacing. Aroma is pine, spruce, leaves. Flavo rid light sweet, medium bitter, a bit of grapefruit on top of the pine and spruce. Medium body, a bit harsh.

Pours a hazy orange/amber with a huge lt tan head....good lacing and retention...only thing they got right. Aroma is sweet butterscotch. Flavor is uber piney butterscotch...what a mess. Mouthfeel is full and oily and the finish is bitter piney butterscotch. Horrendous.

Because of the generosity of a fellow member I was able to try this beer from a new state. It wasn’t very exceptional as far as imperial IPAs. On the other hand it does knock out Nevada which reduces the number of states even more. If this is the calling card for the state than I doubt I will be hurrying to try any more.

Aroma / Appearance - A shock white head was bright against the caramel opaque body. A light orange tint around the edges was the color of the rising sun. Rosy floral hops, caramel, honey, and chocolate raisin bread are generally tropical in nature. A bit heavy handed it is a little flawed but not majorly off kilter.

Flavor / Palate - Chewy pine nuts and chocolate muffins mixed evenly. Caramel notes in the background add a bit of depth but do not make it more interesting past the third sip. The mouthfeel is a little cloying and syruppy. Overall it is decent but slightly below average. All the elements are there for a good experience - it is just that they don’t quite fit together seamlessly.

12 oz. can from Total Wine - Pours a hazy amber color with a two finger thick off white head. Light lacing. Aroma is toasted malt. Did I mention the aroma is toasted malt. Where’s the hops? This is a 2IPA, correct? Maybe I got a old can? The flavor isn’t any better. The finish is fairly smooth and has a hint of pineapple. Medium body. Alcohol is fairly well hidden. The beer isn’t bad, it’s just not a 2IPA. NO HOPS!

Pours hazy dark orange. A very grapefruity aroma, almost overpowering and not fresh. The flavor is dominated by the hops, perhaps too much. There is a distinct bitterness that tapers off toward the end leaving a pleasant, mellow dryness on the back of the tongue. This is its most redeeming quality.

12oz bottle brought over by JoetheYounger, thanks Joe. Rating #14. Appearance is dark brown with a little orange around the edges, pretty dark for a double IPA. Big citrus aroma, grapefruit mainly, but there is a little orange sweetness as well. Light sweetness, mild hops and more grapefruit, but pretty nicely balanced, not too shabby. (1203)
