Light golden color. Sharp grassy nose with some citrus notes, a bit harsh. The mouth is light for the abv but very simplistic. Alcohol burn at the end. Very simplistic.

Bottle courtesy of pikapp327. Pours a very murky ruddy brown with some sediment present. Foamy head that took a bit of coaxing to get a rise. Aroma is very sappy, sticky hops. Lots of resiny notes on this one. Flavor is woody and aged, with bitter hops that leave a dry aftertaste. Lots of exciting flavors with an aftertaste that lingers forever.

Very lightly hazed copper/amber with a slowly fading ecru head. Aroma is a floral and citrus mix with pepper, sweet malt and vegetal notes. Tastes like grapefruit juice with caramel, mild alcohol and a mild bitter finish.

A vigorous pour into my teku glass produces a two finger thick, pale tan colored head. The beer is a bright, copper color that shows a brilliantly clear, golden copper color. The beer smells of crystal malt and then some supporting hop character. Sweet tea notes, caramelized grain, touches of grapefruit, and some pine like notes.

The beer has a solid bitterness, with a lingering pine and menthol astringency, with an up front grapefruit zest character. The finish also has a toasted whole grain cracker note, some lingering sweet tea leaning crystal malt notes, as well as a caramelized note that adds a bit too much here. The body is a bit on the chewy side for an IPA.

Not really my type of IPA, a bit too malt focused, and the hop character could be a lot more floral and characterful. Wow, I was quite surprised that this was an Imperial IPA, really makes me like it even less.

UPDATED: OCT 4, 2013 Courtesy of a trade with Doran in Missouri. Pours a deep copper color with a beige head. Good lacing. Nose of roasted caramel malts and floral hops. Medium body. Flavor is hop forward with a bit of fruit. Citrus finish. Tasty.

Golden beer with a sticky white head. Big thick hop resin nose. Strong caramel malt backbone with grapefruit rind and apricot hop flavors. There is a long pinching bitter finish. Nice IIPA.

0.65l bottle shared with The Tasting Crew. This is a light cloudy honey-colored one with a small bubbly off-white head. A bit fruity, but tons of malty, sweet caramel with sweet dried fruits on the aroma. A bit concentrated and sweet. Oh, the taste is quite pungent and sweet. Lot’s of boozy tones swirling around here. The texture is shockingly thin and watery. Feels like the flavors lie on the bottom of the glass and it’s just water up on the top. Strange strange. Cactus finish with some sweet raisins. Mysterious. 27.07.2012

12oz bottle 12/21/11 (Jack’s Mountain Home) 42° in Snifter-Pours a dark orangish amber with a small off white head. Aroma of hops, citrus, and malt. Taste of hops, citrus, pine, and grapefruit. This full bodied brew has a weird tartness in there that is throwing things off. Disappointing.

Clear amber with a well-suited, light beige head. Light fruit and pineapple nose. Exceptionally estery and fruity with some mild bitterness mixed in. After a sip or two, pineapple blasts to the forefront. Sticky sweet, but not too over-the-top.
