I also received the most recently brewerd batch of these beer from a friend in Vegas. It is quite the beer. Pours thick with a great head. THe aroma is powerful and gets you ready for what you are about to taste. The flavors, whicl i can not pin point any flavors, there is a lot going on. Roasted, and a bit dry, the alcohol taste is not overpowering, and as a whole it leaves an enjoyable long lasting aftertaste. There is one thing thank can be said about JJ brewing co., there is a lot of balance in their beers, which a lot of brewers in my opinon, miss.

Retrogosto lembrando cafe e toffee. Excelente breja!

Bottle from Lee Discount Liquor, Las Vegas Black color, with brown head, short lived. Sweet aroma, with roasted malt and molasses. Full bodied, round; flavor of roasted malt, dark caramel, rich chocolate, molasses, touch of tobacco; medium sweetness. It has the expected strong bitterness, well blended together. Very good, rich.

Tan head sits on this black ale. Typical aroma of coffee, chocolate and roasted malts. Quite a bit of bitterness is apparent. Low carbonation gives a thick mouthfeel and syrupy flow. Roasted malts and coffee give way to a lingering bitterness.

Can’t I just rate beers out of 10 instead of spouting nonsense. Seriously, I’m not an expert. I just know what I like.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 nuplastikk (3289) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 29, 2012
12oz bottle. Lively gushing pour. Opaque brown-black with a rusty orange head. Pretty well balanced and drinkable Imperial Stout. A solid milk chocolate flavor, with a respectable hop balance. Big and rich, but not quite overbearing and undrinkable. Some light coffee tones, dry bitterness. Thick and hefty, a solid offering.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 DuffMan (5199) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - JAN 16, 2013
Bottle, shared with Parksy and Grippitis. This followed the Bruery Tart of Darkness, so it probably scores a little higher from me, since it satisfied my dark malt craving that I failed to find in the sour Tart. Deeply roast and thickly malty, soy sauce, molasses, coffee, vanilla all in that order of participation. Moderately bitter finish. Not sure why this scores so low, as it drank well with me.

Draft. Blackish beer with a tan colored head. Chocolate and malt aroma. Chocolate and malt flavor with light licorice. Medium bodied. Chocolate and light licorice lingers with malt and backing hops.

Pretty strong coffee aroma. Roasty, a lot of coffee in this. Very consistent flavor throughout. Doesn’t seem strong, but too much coffee flavor for my tastes.
