Bottle:   Black, large frothy beige head, spotty lacing.   Faint roastiness, otherwise a bit mealy with a sour fruitiness.   Up front its a metallic sourness that is hard to get past.   Backside reminds me of stale fruit, earthy wood crates, astringent metallic rusty nail like flavors.   There is a roastiness from start to finish, but holy piss is this not only metallic and sour, its like bile.   Yeah, pouring this sh*t out.   Avoid at all costs!

Sample at Jons with Brian and Court after the Hill Farm event at cambridge. Black pour, light head and lace. notes of roast, peat, chocolate, and coffee bean. Pretty smooth. Not the best russian but certainly not the worst either.

Bottle thanks to my brother for my birthday! Pours a thick black with thin ring of brown lace that sticks in rings. Aroma is chocolate, roasted malts and booze. Taste is more chocolate and less booze, really nice balance. Damn fine stout.

Retrogosto lembrando cafe e toffee. Excelente breja! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Black, Huge Thick Brown Head, Lots of Lacing. Roasted with funky bitter finish and slight sweetness in between. Glad to try it but just OK for me.

12 oz bottle. My first new state in a while; five more to go. Dark brown with a big foamy tan head. Nose is hay, malted milk balls and raisin. Sharp and fizzy medium body with lingering ash. Taste is dark roast, licorice, Fig Newton and green olive. Not half bad.

Aroma is malts, dark fruit and a definite smoked/burnt element. The flavor is dark fruit, burnt rubber, malts and an acidic finish.

This should be called a chocolate stout instead of an russian imperial. Not enough IBUs for a RIS. As a chocolate stout it is quiet phenominal. Chocolate aroma is pronounced. It is obvious in the taste as well. A very nice brew. No head at all however. Very thick and syrupy on the tongue.

This was one of the bottles we got a Lee’s in Vegas before heading out to the desert. Had this in St. George. Pours black with a creamy tan head. Sort of burnt malt aroma. Near med body. Flavor is chocolate, with some coffee, and burnt malt. It’s fairly smooth burnt malt. Decent enough. Bitter finish.

12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours black with a solid 3toffee fingers of thick tan head. Aroma of coffee and chocolate with a hint of vanilla. Taste is light bitter. Loads of coffee and dark chocolate. A slight aftertase of artificial cherry. Full bodied with a super thick texture. Very fizzy carbonation and a very long finish. Overall, very good. Not a fan of the carbonation. Bad bottle maybe? While slightly warming, the alcohol is very well hidden. I would drink this one again.
