Pours a murky orange/golden with no head after an aggressive pour. Aroma has a slight sour aspect with hints of orange banana and spice. Taste also has an odd sour funk presence, which is almost nice but certainly out of place among the poor flavors of clove and banana.

Pours a cloudy pale straw with a flimsy white head that is true to style. Smells great: hay, floral, banana, bubblegum... Taste is very well balanced with a nod to sour. Clean fresh palate with just a little stickiness. Slight coppery aftertaste mouthfeel? It’s a good hef. My favorite offering by JJ to date?

12 oz can from the Craft Beer Cellar - Fort Collins. Hazy orange appearance with a lacy white head. Aroma of bread, spices, herbs, banana, clove and hints of citrus. Similar flavor, a little dull, with an average body. Drinkable.

Sampled on draught in Las Vegas. Hazy golden colour and a taste dominated by cloves and banana. Quite refreshing, but not especially characterful. Not bad - quite German-tasting, actually.

Tasted from draft. Pours a cloudy pale yellow with white head. Aroma is citrus, floral, banana. Taste is a little banana and floral notes. A little skunkiness. Crisp and light on the palate. Not my favorite Hefeweizen by any means. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

"i bought this for sh-ts and giggles. JJames beers, new to Reno in 2009, all pretty much sucked when the distributor gave us a sample. this is the first new one i’ve seen. though i expected little, i was open to the possibility that it could be good...you just never know. that optimism evaporated when i popped the top, though. the aroma was a little bubblegummy and a touch of clove, but like some of the others, was generic, kit-like, and had a little extra something that was "off". i had to pour vigorously to get any head, which ended up thin white soda like. cloudy yellow with floaties due to the pour. how does it have prickly carbonation yet taste flat and have practically no head? flavor is the strong point and would have potential if they didn’t make this a "lite". still generic, kit-like, but refreshing enough to make it good enough to avoid the drain."
