Bottle from Trader Joe’s. Yeasty aroma. Poured a murky brown color with a lasting cream head. Taste of bread, dough, yeast, banana, and clove. Medium carb, medium watery body.

Murky Brown, Good Head, Lacing. Not used to its appearance but I guess that is the style. Hardly any toast, more of citrus and wheat sourness. Easy and refreshing, helps if you like the style. Decent.

Pours hazy dark amber into a weizen. Tan head with good retention recedes to coat surface. Banana and bubblegum aromas. Thin with clove and banana front to back. Brief, dry bubblegum finish.

JosephsBrau Dunkelweizen is a cloudy and lively dark amber beer with a thin, soft, slightly yellow film that leaves nice lacing. It has an aroma of clove, banana, plum and dark malt. It smells pretty spicy and a little sweet-- perfect for this kind of beer! It’s medium bodied and quite smooth. The finish isn’t very tight and leaves the tongue feeling starchy. Wheat is certainly the dominant flavor. Lemon, clove, stone fruit and an herbal note are present. The flavor isn’t as strong as the aroma. There isn’t really any bitterness here and the sweetness is barely detectable. This is pretty pleasant. I could have more than one of these.

Given how much I enjoyed the TJ’s hefe, this one seemed like an obvious winner. Aroma of banana and molasses. Cloudy tan color. Sweet taste of spiced banana bread and brown sugar. Smooth buttery texture. Not a match for the hefe, it is a good discount beer nonetheless.

Bottled. Poured medium amber with a short, dense, well-retained khaki head. The aroma picked up toasted caramel and lesser chocolate notes with accents of banana and clove.. sweet and sufficient. The flavor found caramel, a touch of molasses, and vanilla at the core with tangy wheat, cloves, and grainy sugars around.. finished dry and a bit grainy, but tasty. Light-medium bodied and dry on the palate.. good balance between the wheat and toasty other malts.. this was solid.

This cloudy brown beer has a sweet aroma. You really pick up the yeast flavor. It is surprising how sweet it is with its dark color. A smokiness rounds out this beer very well. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

4200th rating. Just doing them in order. No special anniversaries for me. 12 oz. bottle from a six pack given to me by my neighbor. Thanks, Sid! Nice-looking pour; cloudy bright orange-amber that’s darker at the top, the wider part of the glass. Small off-white head that lasts as a film. Aroma of buttered toast, brown sugar, wheat, banana, and caramel. Flavor of wheat, caramel, bananas foster, clove, and a long toasty note in the finish. Light-bodied, with medium-high carbonation and a crisp, toasty mouthfeel. A little bit of an off note in the initial flavor but it gets better on the palate after a couple seconds. Decent beer.

This is a very poor example of a wheat beer. It tastes like cloudy dish water. There is no yeast character, nor much hoppiness, It doesn’t even look right. For me, this beer is tied with Coors.
