Caramel-colored and cloudy with a medium head and a spicy, ripe banana nose. Smooth entry with a thin, somewhat malty mouthfeel followed by a caramel finish.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Pours a dark brown from a bottle, almost no head. Smells and tastes like a caramel malted milk shake, but thin and watery with no depth. Meh.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle, 12 fl oz, Trader Joe’s, Fort Lauderdale FL. Decent, clear features of banana in aroma. Not that complex aroma, though, as expected.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at home. Reddish brown pour. The aroma is ripe brown banana, spice, toasted wheat. The taste is toasty malt, spice, yeasty esters, dark ripe fruits. Nicely balanced finish.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
I poured it from the bottle into a pint glass. It pours a dark amber color with an off-white head and some lacing. The aroma is bubblegum, banana, yeast, and clove. The taste is banana, clove, funk, and yeast. There is a lively carbonation to it with some sour notes on the back end. I bought a six-pack of this once and got tired of it. A single bottle was enjoyable though.

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours a dark Amber color with soft tan head. Aroma of bubblegum, clover and spices. Taste is light and full of the same flavors. Palate is light and thin for style but not bad over all.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Nice darker hefe looking thing from a bottle. Mild sweet candy olfactory. At first a little difficult, again seems somewhat aged but date is 9/12/15. Perhaps more bitter and medicinal than was expected. Creamy hefe co2 is welcomed on gulps. Getting better as session continues. Banana is more apparent on the finish.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
12 oz bottle, because, really why not?
A: Dark amber color with a firm, foamy creme colored head. Very slight lacing.
N: Rye bread, clove, banana, some toffee, some cinnamon, bits of toasted biscuit, white peppercorns.
T: Sweet side with a bittering element, but somewhat bland here.
M: Light to the point of watery, fizzy carbonation, no alcohol presence.
O: Honestly, not half bad. I wouldn’t want a full six pack of these, but given how well the nose comes off, I wouldn’t refuse another one, either. I just wish the body didn’t make the taste seem so flavorless.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 ounce bottle, label says best before 10/30/15. Served in a weizen glass, the beer pours a hazy amber/reddish brown color with a couple inch frothy light tan head. Head retention is good, and there’s a decent amount of lacing. The brew smells like cloves, bananas, wheat/grainy malt and some caramel. For the most part I think the taste is the same as the aroma, but with the addition of some apple-like fruitiness. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it’s a bit slick with moderate carbonation. I liked this, even though I don’t drink dunkelweizens very often I might have to grab a sixer of it. $1.08 a bottle at Trader Joe’s.
