Bottle from TJ’s La Mesa. Pours a very hazy brownish color, with traces of dark red. Sweet yeasty aroma. Some banana and clove. Sweet and somewhat spicy up front. Fairly creamy mouthfeel. A little underlying roasted malty bitterness.

(Vegas 2008) Cloudy brown. Lots of yeast. Wheat and banana aroma. A decent palate, with sweet flavors of wheat, banana, and light citrus. Good.

Pours in cloudy chestnut ways with some frothy density above in an off white hue. Nose is actually quite nice, vividly banana-like with lots of sweetness with just a smidgen of styrofoam. Flavors bring back some banana yeast phenols and wheat notes...body is lighter than it should be, otherwise, I would really like this. I like the banana and wheat notes here..the body feels like it wants to be creamy, it’s just not thick enough to be there. Regardless, I think the flavors here are quite nice.

Muddy dark pour, decent head, some slight Banana and clove, not much of a bite to it, I like the bit of tartness many Dunkelweizen have on the first taste. this doesn’t have it, but still an nice drinking brew for a good price, decent.

Bottle picked up at the Orland Park, IL, Trader Joe’s - This poured a cloudy light brown body capped by a large yellowish beige head. That rapidly devolved into one finger (albeit my skinny pinky) in height that lasted throughout the drink. The aroma was of very ripe bananas, a touch of bubblegum, and a suggestion of clove. This seem a bit spritzy for style, but delivered solid flavors of banana, caramel, and clove. Not bad.

Unfiltered amber with a medium tan head. Aroma of banan, clove and grassy hops. Taste of banana, clove, bubblegum. Malted body with a spicy finish and a little cloying. Seemed to lose most of its flavor as it warmed.

Bottle from Trader Joe’s. Cloudy orange-chestnut brown pour with not much head. Sweet caramel, some chocolate notes, but mostly banana and clove. Nothing to write home about, but not bad, either. One of the better $1 beers one can get at Trader Joes.

Nice aroma of bananas and caramel. A little too much carbonation with an odd buttery after taste.
