2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 naivepegasus (307) - USA - OCT 31, 2007Pours a light amber with a few fingers of white head. A little bit of light hop odor. Starts off clean without much real taste, and ends with a bit of a hop aftertaste, but there’s nothing particularly stand-out about this beer, flavor wise. A drinkable beer, but I’d probably reach for something else if I had the choice.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 seymour (1099) - Saint Louis, Missouri, USA - OCT 6, 2011
Poured bottle from Trader Joe’s into nucleated pint glass. A beautiful golden color with creamy white foam. Very aromatic: bread, cracked grain, faint caramel. Well-rounded taste. More body and complexity than familiar light lagers. The hops bitterness is sufficient to balance the malt sweetness, and you can smell some noble aroma hops, but I would hardly refer to this as a "hop fest." JosephsBrau Hopfest marketing misleads hops-addicted American ale drinkers, but it is nonetheless a good German-style Pilsener.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Nephilium (1153) - Ohio, USA - SEP 7, 2010
Slight lager aroma, with a touch of floral hops. Pours a clear amber, with a nice white head. Slightly sweet start, with a bit of a bitter finish. Very light on the palate, and very drinkable. A good value for a summer drinking beer at $6 a six pack.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Pailhead (3859) - Brownstown, Michigan, USA - JUL 28, 2010
Bottle: The aroma consists of light-moderate honey, light corn, and a touch of grass. It pours a transparent gold with an inch tall white head with okay retention. The flavor starts light-moderate sweet with honey. The finish has light grass and floral hops along with a touch of lemongrass. Light-medium bodied with carbonation that is somewhat fizzy.
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 verymerrymonk (413) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUL 11, 2010
Pours a clear gold body with a thin but lasting white head. Very light flavors - mildly sweet and some earthy hops. Not much to this one but okay.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 HonkeyBra (2484) - Lemont, Illinois, USA - JUN 13, 2010
Clear golden pour with barely any head. Aroma of european hops and light buttery malts. Flavor is vapid, boring, very little hop flavor , corn, slight bitterness in the back of the throat. Not crisp enough for a solid pilsner. And the name Hopfest is a misnomer. Very meh.
2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 RichJ7 (1175) - Cullman, Alabama, USA - JUN 3, 2009
Gold with a thick, fizzy white head. Aroma of slightly sour lagery malt and hops. Flavor is hoppy with an undercurrent of sweetness. Mild bitter hop finish. Meh. Ok.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 jrob21 (2012) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - MAR 29, 2009
A grainy corn aroma and a toasted grain flavor. Appearance is a clear yellow color. Would love a little more body but this is a drinkable beer nonetheless.
2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 kuphish (378) - Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA - MAR 20, 2009
Bottle. Poured a large, rocky white head that didn’t want to fall away. Nice lacing. Clear, golden body. Light malt aroma with some hay and a fair amount of floral and herbal hops. Taste was about the same with some mild pear and honey flavors. The hops definitely play a prominent role in the flavor profile (without being too dominant/overpowering), which I appreciate. Light body with average/pleasant carbonation. Nice hop finish. Overall a nice German pils for the price, but the malt flavor could have been a bit cleaner for me...something about the pear and honey notes seemed off.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 BelgianBeerGal (2605) - Dayton Area, Ohio, USA - MAR 3, 2009
Bottle. Pretty good german pils, which was a little suprising honestly. Nice hallertau hops in the aroma and flavour. Light and refreshing brew.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Nebulor (109) - , California, USA - MAR 3, 2009
Pale malt aroma with esters in the background.
Pours a light golden color with a lime hue, minimal white head, and had some sediment.
Bready grain malt taste with grapefruit/lime flavored hops and a butter background.
Light/medium bodied, resinous, with lively carbonation.
A drinkable bargain.
