bottle. Amber with one finger head. Not as bad as the heller bock, but fairly mediocre. Light to medium body with caramel malt and light nuttiness. I think a few more hops would go a long way here.

Metalchopz (2955) - Cantley, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 1, 2015
Purchased at Trader Joe in Vegas. Pours an amber colour with a very slight haze. The head is warm, lasts a good time and creates thick lacing. The aromas are mild but with a nice blend of cereal, caramel and hints of fruity malts. The taste is a little sweeter, fruitier, but still malty. Hints of spices, decent bitterness. A little apples. Not a bad beer overall and better than their Bohemian lager.

Gordon Biersch is one of the best German style breweries in America & the repackage here is an amazing deal. Great malty beer w/toasty overtones from the Munich malt.

Lots of paint thinner and rust in this. Pours amber with ok head. Finishes pretty astringent. Not a great package. Bottle.

Bottle - small foamy head, light copper color, sweet malty aroma and flavor, mild earthy hop balance, ok overall

Bottle at home. Aroma is sweet brioche dough and brown sugar, taste is sweet, grainy, some maple, white pepper, bit of acidity. Metallic, harsh finish. Unrefined and pretty bad.

Aurelius (4918) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - OCT 15, 2015
Has a nice, candy-caramel-malt aroma with just a little implied spice. Then the beer hits the skids, pretty much. Standard longneck, rather plain branding. Clear, light rusty color with a thin, ringing white head. Grainy astringency, dark syrups and sugars, spargewater. Tinny/tangy, moderately sweet, low bittering. Medium body. Meh. Trader Joe’s, Tallahassee.

JoesephsBrau Oktoberfest has a thick, creamy, off-white head, a hazy, fairly bubbly, copper appearance, and a bit of lacing left behind. The aroma is of sweet bread crust, and the flavor is the same, with sweet syrup and low bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium, and JosephsBrau Oktoberfest finishes crisp and refreshing. RJT

From 12 oz bottle, about $1.07 from Trader Joe’s, poured into 14 oz tulip glass

Aroma: bread, caramel, floral

Appearance: orange, clear, minimal head

Taste: light sweetness

Palate: light body, creamy, average carbonation, bitter finish

Overall: Something weird going on here. The aroma and appearance is good, but the taste/palate is quite off. A strange taste that I can’t put my finger on, but it tastes almost like a bandaid or something that’s not right. Has a somewhat strange lingering after taste as well that tastes nearly metallic (maybe?) or coppery (is that a taste?).

Bottle, Ann Arbor, MI. Medium amber. Thin head. Peppery caramel aroma. Metallic caramel flavor. Some spice, maybe clove. More lingering metallicness on the finish.
