COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Prost means "cheers" in German- a gesture of friendship and an enjoyment of the moment. Our Maibock style lager is brewed just like the celebratory beer traditionally served at the May festivals: rich and malty, with slightly spicy notes from the Hallertau and Tettnang hops. ALC 7.3% BY VOL and 26 bitterness units.

Amber colored pour with a tall khaki head. Sweet malty nose, grapes, and floral hops. A little bit of grass, apple, and toasted bread. A little watery. The flavor is kind of bland as well. Sweet bread, some toffee, grapes, and floral hops. Light apple, toast, and a grassy finish.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a clear copper color with a small white head. A sweet toffee nose. A light nose of toast, leaves, some light sweet toffee. Sweet, easy, some toast and citrus. Light, spicy. Lemons. Decent.

Pours a clear amber-rust orange. Has a faint malt, camarel and light fruit aroma. A malty taste with caramel, pine, and some fruits. A dry grain and lightly sour fruit aftertaste.

I’ve got to hand it to Trader Joe’s for having a fairly extensive line up of german style brews available at such affordable prices - sure, the quality is inconsistent, but it’s nice to have some decent beer available so cheaply - anyway, this one pour a clear light amber - spare lace - nose of moderately rich maltiness, some brined cherries - flavor isn’t terribly complex, but it is clean, medium sweet, some cherry and doughy malts, with light balancing acidity and bitterness - well-masked alcohol - it won’t be winning any awards, but it’s a decent rendition for a solid price.

Tallahassee, Fl - Trader Joe’s - 12 oz bottle. Dark orange, medium amber pour, quickly fading off-white head. Brown sugar aroma, a light touch of date sweetness. Flavor is decent with some light raisiny sweetness, some light bubble gum, a light touch of chocolate. Thick enough mouthfeel. Decent, but plain and pedestrian.

Malty aroma, which at first reminds me of pickled olives and straw malt. The pickled olive thing evaporates after a couple of minutes. Clear bronze. Clean, but boring label on a 12oz longneck. Toast, a sassy tannic acidity, light astringency and a general unpleasant woody bitterness undertone. Warming. Medium body. Trader Joe’s, Tallahassee.

It poured a copper color with a white head. The aroma was of toasted caramel malts with nuts and faint floral hops. The taste was of toasted malts, nuts and a touch of florals. Nice.

12 oz. bottle purchased at Trader Joe’s Portsmouth, NH. Color is amber hued gold with slow fading head. Aroma is burnt toast and sicking sweet toffee and honey.

I paid $1.17 for the bottle so I wasn’t expecting much. It’s all about setting realistic expectations for a Trader Joe’s brew. The flavor is massive sweet honey and caramel with a light toasted grain finish. Body is real thin with a lightly creamy smooth texture. Drinkable but overly sweet.

A chlorine bock miscategorized as a heller bock. Lot’s of wooden astringency here and a trashy finish. Pours brown. Very bad even for a random category. Bottle.

JosephsBrau Prost has an extremely thick, cream-colored head, a clear, bubbly, copper appearance, and rather heavy lacing left behind on the glass. The aroma is of sweet, syrupy, bread crust. Taste is the same with a wonderful, prominent hop bitterness coming in near the end of the sip. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and JosephsBrau Prost finishes crisp, refreshing, and surprisingly drinkable. Overall, this is delicious! RJT
