Joutsan Sahti

Cloudy orange with no head. Fruity aroma with dates in particular. Dry and slightly tart, with fruity sweet notes.

Plastic canister at Metro, Lahti, Finland. Orange-brown colour, no head. Aroma is sour, some sweetness, fruity (almost like very dry cider). Flavour is sour, crisp, sweetish, yeasty, some apple and banana. Great sahti. Like this more than Lammin sahti.

Plastic canister at Metro, Lahti. Brown colour with no head. Aroma is banana, slightly sweet and some yeast. The flavour is sweet, malt, banana and some sourness. Medium-bodied and bitter aftertaste. Quite different compared to other sahtis, but still very good.

(Poured from plastic canister into a ceramic mug at Metro, Lahti, on 2008-10-25) Brown. Hardly any head. Banana and hops in nose. Full bodied and bit sticky palate with hardly any carbonation. Banana, malts, hops, bitterness and some sweetness in taste. Banana and light bitterness in aftertaste.

Plastic 3 liter canister from Alko @ Joutsa. bottled 25.7.08, best before 8.8.08. Still enjoying it at home every day. brown orange no head. banana esters, quite light, medium body. alc. ~7% but it doesn’t show. very sneaky! juniper, light smoke. Getting dirtier every day so better keep it going down the throat before it converts to a porridge. Someone wants to have taste?

Self fermented from wort. Dirty, surprsingly clear orangy brown. Strong banana and tropical fruit nose. Flavor is fruity with maltiness, juniper and strong on nuts/almonds. Super slick and oily palate. It’s sahti alright..

Plastic canister@St. Urho. Hazy nutty amber colour with small beige head. Aroma is banana, barnyard, some smoke and yeast. The flavour is banana, grass, easrth and some slight mild smoky notes. No signs of alcohol.
