Murky brown color with a white head, medium retention. Aroma has yeasty notes, slightly caramel with some herbal hints. Flavor is mild acidic, herbal notes with some ginger in the final.

Bottle(as Jovaru Šnekutis/@ Litauen Spezial, Alles Gärbar Bochum): Hazy, golden, no head to speak of; Aroma is very hard to describe, maybe fruity-cellary, traces of sour dough, traces of burnt malt; moderate sweet-sourish flavour, thinnish MF; short fruity and goughy finish. Not my cup of tea...

Fat @ Snekutis (Sv Stepono). Oklar mörkorange vätska med ett minimalt vitt skum. Dofter av mogen frukt, örter och gräs. Smakinslag av örter, citrus, krusbär och gräs. Torr munkänsla, syrlig eftersmak och avslutning. Mycket trevlig.

1.0 liter PET bottle.Dominated by yeast in both aroma and taste, with some sweet-sour malts, hints of nuts and potato. Small off-white head, traces of lacing. Medium body, low carbonation. Greyish-brownish colour, murky, looks exactly like drawn from a muddy puddle. A rather typical Baltic countryside farmhouse ale, not terrible, but also not something I’d look forward to have.

Cloudy unfiltered dark honey color with minimal white foam. Aromas on the weak side and smells like this Lithuanian candy that I can not remember but I know it! Which means aromas are somewhat sweet? Other than that smells of malt, straw, grapes and rasins. Palate, medium/full body, with heavy sweet thickish texture (could be bit thicker), and leaves rye bread, typical Lithuanian farm house ale finish that is somewhat sweet and really nice! Taste,Sweet of rasins, sunflower seeds, malty, nice and simple.Overall, nice simple, easy going and good fit for Lithuanian farmhouse ale style category, just bit on light side. I really did enjoy it but I had some other Lithuanian farmhouse ales and they did have nicer thicker texture and feel heavier in the mouth, but still very good and highly recomendable ale to try!

UPDATED: SEP 15, 2015 At the beginning a main impression is a bit sour, in the same time some honey like a sting of a wasp. A farmhouse brew. Later on a palate of homemade fruit wine. Cherry or plums...So usual for this country. A bit watery. D@Snekutis at sv.Stephan

From tap at Snekutis Uzupio, Vilnius. Ruddy brown, not much head, cloudy. Fruity and yeasty nose. Fruity and peppery flavours, actually ending on a semi-dry note. Likeable, hard to describe and original.

1 liter pet bottle, thanx to larsga. Samplet May 2014. Damn, this is a difficult one. Very unusually, quite weird and sure more interesting than good IMO. Body is unclear dirty orange with a thin and fast disappearing white head. Looking weird, the aroma is even more unusually. Worth, baking yeast, cooked vegetable and cabbage cellar or something. Not really as unpleasant as it might sound. It’s almost a bit scaring to take the first sip here, as I really don’t know what to expect and are prepared for almost anything. OK, not bad nut not good either, but definitively difficult to explain. At least there is a lot of yeast here with some kind of fruitiness that I really don’t how to describe, it might come from the yeast itself, don’t know. I thing I could call some of the flavor for umami, as it has some equating with sake and raw meat without really tasting the same thing. Not particular sweet and almost no bitterness so I have to say it’s some kind of balance here. Medium body and long lasting aftertaste with the same unusually flavor. Probably need to try more of similar beer styles to understand this. Some extra score for the surprise this time, still not any favorite.

visionthing (4068) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAY 18, 2014
UPDATED: MAY 19, 2014 50cl (as "Kaimiskas Alus Jovaru Snekutis") on tap at Kaimiško Alaus Baras Šnekutis (Užupis location), Vilnius. Slightly hazy orange with a white head. Moderate malty aroma with some yeasty notes and hints of herbs and butter. Moderate sweet with hints of sourness and a light bitterness. Quite refreshing and nice after a long walk on a hot day.
