Nice too. It was a shame they did not have the Medaus one that time. Very tasty, sweet and cloudy. Bubbly and thick.

UPDATED: SEP 15, 2015 At the beginning a main impression is a bit sour, in the same time some honey like a sting of a wasp. A farmhouse brew. Later on a palate of homemade fruit wine. Cherry or plums...So usual for this country. A bit watery. D@Snekutis at sv.Stephan

From tap at Snekutis Uzupio, Vilnius. Ruddy brown, not much head, cloudy. Fruity and yeasty nose. Fruity and peppery flavours, actually ending on a semi-dry note. Likeable, hard to describe and original.

1 liter pet bottle, thanx to larsga. Samplet May 2014. Damn, this is a difficult one. Very unusually, quite weird and sure more interesting than good IMO. Body is unclear dirty orange with a thin and fast disappearing white head. Looking weird, the aroma is even more unusually. Worth, baking yeast, cooked vegetable and cabbage cellar or something. Not really as unpleasant as it might sound. It’s almost a bit scaring to take the first sip here, as I really don’t know what to expect and are prepared for almost anything. OK, not bad nut not good either, but definitively difficult to explain. At least there is a lot of yeast here with some kind of fruitiness that I really don’t how to describe, it might come from the yeast itself, don’t know. I thing I could call some of the flavor for umami, as it has some equating with sake and raw meat without really tasting the same thing. Not particular sweet and almost no bitterness so I have to say it’s some kind of balance here. Medium body and long lasting aftertaste with the same unusually flavor. Probably need to try more of similar beer styles to understand this. Some extra score for the surprise this time, still not any favorite.

UPDATED: MAY 19, 2014 50cl (as "Kaimiskas Alus Jovaru Snekutis") on tap at Kaimiško Alaus Baras Šnekutis (Užupis location), Vilnius. Slightly hazy orange with a white head. Moderate malty aroma with some yeasty notes and hints of herbs and butter. Moderate sweet with hints of sourness and a light bitterness. Quite refreshing and nice after a long walk on a hot day.

Bottle, 1liter Pet. Thx to larsga and joet. As Kaimiskas Alus Jovaru Snekutis. An unclear dark orange-golden beer with a minimal sized off-white head. There’s butterscotch on the nose, with yeast, lemon, cooking rice, some wet cardboard and caramel. Some notes of cooked vegetables and wort too. Weird, nice and interesting in a way, and at the same time not. The mouthfeel gives me associations to sake, it’s pretty dry and mouth coating. Soft carbonation. Lemony notes, rice, toffee, some butterscotch and fruityness in the flavor, with almost no bitterness to be detected. There’s not much sweetness either so I don’t miss the bitterness. Lasting fruity and yeasty finish with toffee hints. A very complex and interesting beer. Don’t think I could drink much of it, but it’s sure interesting. My score reflects that. 140503

Pours hazy/murky brown with a few off-white bubbles. Aroma has notes of malt, wort, yeast and cellar. Taste is light sweet and light bitter. Body is light, texture is thin, carbonation is flat.

Very cloudy, almost like a weizen, small head, very thick beer, full body, tastes quite like a kellerbier and it has the same kind of wooden cellar moisture note there. Quite OK.

On tap at Blue Orange in Kaunas..Like drinking a piece of history, fantastic brew, cloudy amber w a small head, wonderful malty honey aroma, quite earthy, taste is sweet and malty with some herbal hints, slight bitterness which just about matches the sweet maltiness. Very full bodied and flavoursome, a clasic farmhouse style beer.

UPDATED: JUN 5, 2013 Plastic bottle for a first try at Bambalyne in Vilnius.
From tap the next day at Alaus Namai, where I found it not much different.
Hazed semi-dark amber with a small ring of a head if you force a pour. Raw, worty, herbal aroma with more cabbage and carrots and composted, browned fruit (apple and pear mostly). Sugary, raw grain flavor, dirty sweat sock and just-fermented apple juice. Watery texture with a limp body. Seems very under fermented, like it came out of primary after a week.
