Veyr nice, IO got it in the end. Sweet but not as strong compared with others if you consider the honey taste. Nice cloudyness and features.

UPDATED: JUN 4, 2013 27/IV/13 - 1L PET bottle mentioned "Kaimiškas Jovaru" @ Zythos Bierfestival (2013-426) Thanks to Joris and hence marcusftbd for the sample!

Little cloudy amber beer, small irregular unstable, white head, bit adhesive. Aroma: bready, very sweet, honey, dried dates, sugary. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: very sweet, sugary, honey, weird, flowers, caramel. Aftertaste: sweet, honey, sugar, bready, floral, hard to describe but pretty weird anyways.

Slightly hazy golden colour, white head. Aroma of honey, dough, rising bread, quite sweet. Sweet flavour, honey and malts. Sweet finish, light bitter, touch of nuts.
(Taster glass from 1L PET bottle @ ZBF beer festival, Leuven 2013. Kindly brought over by 77ships when I was too busy helping out at the DDvdK stand to go and taste beer myself. Thanks Eugene!!)

1L PET Bottle sample @ ZBF’13 shared with the RB Belgian crew courtesy of Joris and British friends.

No head, fully hazed, ochre beer. Honey, malts, utterly sweet-smelling. Utterly sweet tasting, dull-grainy. Utterly syrupy MF. Even mead is not this dull-cloyingly sweet. See my Alus rating for more comment. Txs to marcusftbd

Thx to JorisPPattyn for this one – sort of assume that he knew the couple which deposited this one & another bottle from this brewery at our table. Otherwise thanks to them for bestowing upon us randomly Lithuanian awesomeness. Honey was added apparently after fermentation. 1000 cl. brown PET bottle which looks more like 750 cl. Lithuanian craft in PET bottles, awesome. Pours a lightly murky brownish amber with little white head. Nose is full of delicious raw bread dough, yummy with a thick layer of brown honey on top. Taste is sweet honey, creamy, delicious raw bread dough, brown honey, lightly herbal, thick caramel, hints of nuts, flowers and light earth. Body with touches of honey, little carbonation. I cannot believe that this one has a lower rating than their Alus. This feels very warm and comforting. I love this – deviates very heavily from all other beer styles.

From one of those ghastly Lithuanian plastic bottles, at the brewery. Sweetened to appeal to girls. Amber and honey-sweet with that earthy-ethnic quality than defies categorisation. Technically crap but in truth a beautiful off-authentic example of long-established local beer-making.

Had this in Vilnius, Lithuania Feb 2013, made some notes, pours golden brown, not a lot of head and low carb, unusual honey nut aroma with caramel malt, some hops balancing but mainly sweet and a thick palate. Different.

Sweet version of Jovaru beer with honey. Pity honey is added after fermentation just to fix taste. But drinks very easily.

The head is medium, the body yellow-light brown and cloudy. It smells intensive honey-woody, not too sweet. The taste is very honey, sweet, a bit woody, honey-aromatic. Overall interesting and tasty, one of the best beers with honey i had! 10/10/11/10/-/11

In short: A fun honeyed beer with a strong terroir character. Nice
How: Tap directly at the brewery, served warm-ish
The look: Cloudy glowing amber topped by a medium off-white head
In long: Nose is a chunk of backyard garden, a bit flowery, a bit herbal and with earthy notes. Taste is creamy honeyed cereals, iced-tea, earth, flowers, some herbs. Less farmhouse than the regular Jovaru Alus but equally earthy terroir. A fine beer that I would probably appreciate more served at “normal” chilled temperature, I’ve never been a fan a warmer beers even if the style is supposed to ask for it. Not as good at their regular Jovaru Alus, but drinking these beers on location in the brewery tasting room will remain one of my most memorable beer experience, and now I want to grow wings and go back to this brewery whenever I want. I know it’s a crazy thought but what I lack in down-to-earth realism I make up in awesome dragon fighting skills.
