341ml bottle pours amber color with a small off-white head that retains well and leaves some thin lacing on the glass. Aroma is cereal grains with a hint of caramel and grassy hops. Taste is grainy with some sweetness and moderate hop bitterness in the finish. Light to medium body and moderate carbonation. A slight step up from a typical macro lager, but nothing special.

Originally rated July 2006. This one is the last for me to try of the three Founder’s Series... unless they add some more (which I would not mind). It pours a clean amber colour with a nice creamy slightly off-white head. Retention is excellent and lacing left is pretty good. Big fruity aromas with heavy grain and cereal malt and mixed with some caramel and butterscotch. Reminds me a lot of the other two brews of this series. Smooth creamy mouthfeel, steady carbonation all over and lace following the glass all the way down. Mild caramel at first taste, but not too sweet with some nice flowery bouquet. Then the bready malt kicks in with some mild hoppy bitterness, to then finish with some light nuts and butter aftertaste. A pretty good beer, just like the others, but still think I prefer their Pilsener a slight notch.

473 ml can from LCBO (remaindered in the singles bin). Pours a clear orange/gold with moderate white head. Sweet malt and wet grass in the aroma. Flavour is sweet and lightly grainy with a little grassy bitterness in the finish. Alright I guess.

Bottle: Pours light amber, good white head. Aroma is muted, malty, average. Flavour is reasonably malty, some hopping, and a heckuva lot better than everything else Brick’s been releasing.

Amber would be pushing it for this beer, more yellow in colour. Taste is thin and fades quickly. It is sweet but lacks characteristics.

473ml can from LCBO. Time to start knocking off the local ratings! More dark yellow than amber but with a nice fluffy medium head and lots of streaming bubbles - that is a surprising 4 for appearance. Aroma is slightly metallic, slightly sweet and just sort of light malt like. Not much there. Taste - the first thing I noticed was the soft almost full mouthfeel - it is also very surprising and nice. Too bad there was not more flavour. Light malt, not really sweet at all with some hops in the end. I had this just after having the Lion Brewery Premium Lager and this did have more flavour while being quite similar. No off tastes at all and a good amount of malt for the style. Not bad, good have been very good with a lot more flavour.

Tasted 11/1/08. 473ml can. Filtered with a dark golden hue. Finger width of bone white head. Not a very good nose. Metallic and sulfurous. Light to medium bodied and mildly crisp. Grainy with a touch sweetness. Meh...

Sweet aroma, low head, caramel and malt and lingering sugar on the tongue. Feh!
