J.R. Brickman Honey Red

Bottle: Pours almost copper, medium sized but visually nice white head. Certainly some honey in the aroma, little else. Flavour is sweet, malty, with no real hops to find. An odd alcohol note is present for a 5%. Average.

smells like light malt and cereal, it is orange with a disappearing head that was soapy rather than foamy. tastes sugary, not like much at all... way too much carbonation typical feel of all brick garbage, i dont know why i expected this one to be pleasant. but then again it is really cheap in a can, so maybe i will try the pilsner.

Appearance :Copper/amber brew with medium creamy top.3+
Nose:Aroma of honey with caramel and toffee malt. Slightly spicy top.
Flavour/Palate:
Medium bodied, more or less impression of aroma. Fairly sweet honey-caramel character with hint of twiggy spice. All sounds great but you can’t escape of the feeling that this is still quiet average brew than is only step above mass produced suds.

Dark appearance, only slightly darker than the Brickman Amber. Malty dark, foamy head. Very good flavour, but not overpowering.

On tap. Dirty orange/brown appearance. Practically aroma-less, with just a touch of malt and honey. Flavour is pleasant, honey/fudge sweet, with minor alcohol astringency on the finish. Average for a honey. Could use more contrasting flavours to the sweetness.

I actually really like this one, despite not totally understanding the whole honey beer thing. Nice aroma, with hints of toffee that become more apperent the longer it sits there. Nice brownish head (that leaves a good lacing on the glass), amber/red/orange in colour. Initially tastes of malty sweetness then the honey hits pretty strongly, but not severely. There’s almost some bitterness in there too, but nothing too strong. After taste is good, mostly malty and sweet like, well, honey. Lower on the carbonation which I like. Pretty enjoyable IMHO.

(room temp) Darkish amber gold with thin slightly off white head. Malt aroma, very sweet, caramel like with honey. Sweet flavour, there is an extreamly light bit of smoke in the flavour. It is overly sweet. Not that enjoyable but still has a bit of drinkability to it. Carbonated and creamy palate.

Bottle thanks to Pootz. Dark amber with a big starting head. Aroma more vanilla than honey, although both are present. Flavour is sweet, thin and with a metallic finish. It is not a pleasant beer.
