garthicus (1216), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Dec 22, 2007 From Ontario craftbrewers 6 pack. Lots of carbonation, Small head though. Light grass-hop aroma. This has a very thin hop flavour, the carbonation dominates and it has a very short but dry finish, not bad but unmemorable. probstk (1007), Nepean, Ontario, Canada Dec 2, 2007 222 ml bottle in the “Ont. Craftbrewers 6-pack” from LCBO, served cold in a tulip glass. NO23/07
App.: Clear golden, foamy white head.
Aroma: Some bready malts, generic cereal and grain, faint non-descript dankness; where’s the hops?
Palate: Medium-thin body and medium carbonation.
Flav.: Bread, cereal, grain, maybe a wee hint of hops, a little apple cider; austere finish.
Macro boring. Import MORE hops. pintbypint (1002), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Nov 6, 2007 341ml brown bottle from matt7215. Pale gold coloured beer with a small tight creamy white cap. Left some pretty nice lacing. Aroma is honeyish, with light bready malt behind. Has a sweet honeyed malt flavour with some light traces of grass hop and grain. Finishes quick with a little grain and grass standing out in the aftertaste. Had the expected light body but carbonation was fairly smooth. A bit sweeter than I like my pilsners (use some more hops Brick), but certainly drinkable. yarry (370), Waterdown, Ontario, Canada Sep 28, 2007 341ml bottle, 5% a/v
Pours a clean gold, offwhite head with some dense head and generously carbonated. The nose is caramel, malts, and a small bit of grass/herbs. The taste starts off malty and then turns hoppy quick, though not enough hops for my taste. The finish is a sweet, honey and clover finish. Its ok, but closer to a generic beer then a good pilsener. mds (2112), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Sep 1, 2007 Bottle. Clear, sparkling gold body with a large frothy white head. The aroma has a certain doughiness to it as well as some herbal/grassy hops. Starts out crisp and hoppy and then you get hit with some kind of honey sweetness incarnation and it just doesn’t seem right. Drinkable but not very well executed. matt7215 (942), Cambridge, Ontario, Canada Aug 8, 2007 341 ml bottle. poured pale yellow with a small white head. aromas are grainy with some detecable hops. flavours are well balanced in a typical pils fashion. as with most brick product there is to much formosa water to the taste. very easy drinking. DuffMan (2721), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, Canada Jul 26, 2007 Clear straw yellow with a decent white bubbly head displaying moderate retention, no lace. Clean aroma, grainy with hints of citrus and a whiff of hops. Again, clean grainy palate with a firm mouthfeel, and a mildly hopped bitter finish. Not even close to "world class" in my opinion, but certainly above average on the North American pilsener playing field. robinvboyer (1419), Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada Jul 6, 2007 considering this is a Pils made by Brick Brewery, i have to admit its decent. a well made pils. no point in really going into detail we all know what a good pils is like. Its a run of the mill pils, but its well made and you can tatse it.
