Tap at the brewpub. Great lacing, big chill haze. Amber red color. Sheets of white lace. A bit dark for style. Nose is sticky, nutty, mild acetone/solvent. Taste is dusty, nutty, husky, biting bitterness. Sharply bitter and metallic. Big nut skin. Papery, astringently bitter palate. A bit too harsh with big sweet candy.

On tap at the brewpub. Itís a dark golden beer, clear, and topped by a small, off-white colored head leaving some lacings. The aroma is pretty nice, citrus peel, pine cones and some tropical fruits, some malty hints in the far back. Thereís a bit more maltyness in the mouth, with a touch of caramel, but still itís the hops that run the show. Bitterness, citrus peel and tropical fruits. Nice carbonation level, but it could use a bit more body. Mostly bitter and citrusy finish. Sure, a nice and quite well tasting IPA that I could down a few of. 130903

Faint lemony hop aroma. Slightly sweet malt flavor with pine bitterness. Its an IPA.

Not overpowering... Pretty good hop character. Smooth for an IPA. Pours a deep copper. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours an amber color. Has a strong aroma of hopps and citrus. Taste is much the same. Strong, almost over powering taste of hopps and citrus the remind me of a grapefruit. Although to be fair, i am not a big IPA fan. Overall, not bad.

Tap in Anaheim. Pours a deep amber with off white head that retains fairly well. Aroma is some grapefruit and an overt maltiness but mostly bland. Taste, malty sweetness, some faded hops. Bready and just not worth drinking. Overall, didnít finish this one. Not worth the calories.

Hophead22 (2880) - Redlands, by way of Wisconsin,, California, USA - JUL 16, 2011
Sample at the pub. Dark orangish amber in color with a dirty white head. Big floral aroma, light pine and a good amount of citrus. Medium bitterness, nice hop bite, pretty good ipa. (1797)

A: The beer pours an orange-amber color with a small white head. S: Decently hoppy, which is almost surprising at this point. Nice citrus (particularly grapefruit and orange), with a bit of floral hops, too. Some mild bread and a bit of malt sweetness. T: Like with the nose, thereís a nice citrus bite up front with some grapefruit and orange. A light grass on the back end as well as a decent bitterness. This is still a bit on the sweet side, though. M: Medium in body with a medium level of carbonation. O: Easily the best house beer that JT Schmidís had. Not a great IPA, but drinkable.

Taster at brew pub. Pours clear amber with a thin white head. The nose is caramel and ripe citrus. The taste is toffee, overripe citrus and light grapefruit in the finish. Medium mouthfeel. Ok IPA.
