Commercial Description:
Belgian Abbey Ale and harbinger of things to come, this straw colored session beer is dry and slightly spicy.

Light aroma with a hint of sulfur, very light...just a tiny hint of Belgian-style yeast. I always have a very difficult time getting aroma out of JT’s beers. Very light yellow in color with a thin, yellow head. Lots of flavor for such a light aroma: light malt, citrus, orange, coriander, etc... I like it. Lighter body with a nice dry finish. I would _not_ call this a dubbel. It must be a normal Abbey.

Lightly hazed straw color with a smaller white head. Very pale malt aromas with esters and phenols - nothing to strong, just light raisins and bananas. Quite thin, seems like a pale blonde cream ale. Mild malt and with hints of earth and floral hops. A belgian for the masses?

While not a exceptional Belgian, this was not that far below average. It had a few flaws but nothing too bad. Still, it was not quite good enough I would order another pint when I go back. If you have the choice between this and the Boots Belgian, opt for that instead. It makes a decent Belgian table wine but the only thing reason I would choose this instead of something else is if the other option were a Bud Light.

Aroma / Appearance - A one finger white head decorated the top of the glass. Beneath it was a clear straw colored body with no carbonation. It looked very watery and thin just based on the appearance alone. The nose was a little simple consisting only of straw and slightly ripe bananas. Overall it was fruity and sweet but very thin.

Flavor / Palate - The mouthfeel is almost nonexistant as is any flavor. I was able to pick up hay and light hops before it all faded away to nothing on the back on the palate. For a table beer that you could drink all day it would be decent but I personally would like something with a little more flavor to it. This is just too bland and boring in general to be worth a second chance.
