Ljust halmgul vätska med tjock vitt skum. Första sniffen - helt klart skumbanan. Andra inandningen - gröna örter. Stor och söt maltkropp. Lite för söt.

Drink cool (12°) Eye: Pours a golden to copper, hazy color with a medium white rather quickly dissipating head. low to medium carbonation. Nose: sweet yeast, ripe banana. Mouth: bitter if you breath out through your nose. yeast once more. wheat and spicy hops, a bit metallic. Palate: herbal hops, honey, licorice. Overall: good strong ale. bit on the bitter side, hoppy side and because of that not too complex.

Bottle from de Bierschuur in Poppel. The beer has a ocher blonde color and a large white head, with average carbonation. In the aroma clear tones of hops, yeast, citrus, cloves and a little vanilla. The taste is full bodied, with the sweetness of fruits and vanilla, to change into a nice bitterness from the hops and the yeast. The finish is full, warming and a little sweet. A nice ale, which reminds me of Leffe Blonde, but not quiet as good.

Alken-Maes’ reaction to Duvel, with which it is notoriously hard to compete. Snow white head, orange blonde colour; sweetish malt character, some equally sweetish fruitiness, spicy notes, mild grassy hop bitterishness and warming alcohol in the finish. Less complex than many of its congeners and to much to the sweet side, but not bad after all.
