33 cl, from De Hopduvel Gent, complex beer, clear, small head, nice brew, but not a topper

Pours a cloudy yellow color with a thin white head that leaves nice lacing on the glass. On first sniff I smelled citrus, but after that yeast makes itself noticed. The flavor is a balanced combo of citrus and yeast, pleasant at first, but it’s simple and gets nearly boring after a while.

Well I must admit, for a strong ale this was pretty well balanced and did not taste like I was drinking liquor as some do. It had a slight citrus aroma and was refreshingly malty.

A pressie from Ronnies last visit to Amsterdam. Good clean golden brew with a thin white head, good steady bead of tiny bubbles. Lightly citrus nose, fresh and malty palate. The 8.5% becomes more noticable on the reasonable finish. A good well balanced beer, surprisingly dry(ish) for a such a high strength. Liked it.

A light clear, but somewhat hazey copper coulour. Medium bodied with a soft white head, a nd a nice pleasent cashew aroma. Smooth, fruity, and definately a little stronger in taste.

A clear golden colored beer, with a small white head. It disappears soon. The aroma has malt and yeast in it, with a little sour in the back. The taste is guite sweet from caramel and some spicey tones in the aftertaste. Not bad, just an average beer.

Bottle (330ml). Poured a golden orange with a good sized, dense, foamy, white head which was mostly lasting. Aroma was of sweet yeasty malts with banana cake, lemon zest, cloves, coriander and white pepper. Flavor was of sweet yeasty malts with suggestions of pears, lemon zest, coriander and white pepper. Well hidden alcohol content. Medium bodied with lively carbonation, dry mouthfeel, somewhat watery texture and an average finish. A bit thin.

Bottle at Toone. This is a great beer. Repeat. It is. Light amber color with a barely lacing white head. Slight sweat sox aroma. Medium body with fine, but sharp carbonation. It’s a bit funky. Sweet malt and bitter hop. It’s like a flavor cycle of funk, bitter, fruit. None too strong. The result is not exactly complex, just ever changing. Good to the mouth. Dryish finish with bitter. Get one.
