UPDATED: AUG 12, 2015 The appearance is rather pale, with good carbonation and firm, white foam. The aroma is reminiscent of other similar Belgian pale ales, albeit maybe slightly softer, very nice and appetising. A taste reminiscent of liquorice (although not as much as other ales), slightly fruity. It develops to a more profound hoppy flavour but it is not too complex. Fairly drinkable despite its abv. Overall, a good beer (similar to Duvel) with a decently round flavour, extremely nice aromas and consistent texture. Probably one of the better pale ales to begin exploring Belgian beers, definitely softer than the other ones (like Brigand).

Tasted 11/4/15. BB 11-07-16. Poured a crystal clear amber with 5mm of open white foam that retained OK and laced OK. Carbonation extremely low and coarse. Aroma of moderately strong yeast. Taste of yeast and strongly of alcohol. Light body. Yeasty finish with strong alcohol coming through.

Boa blond.

Review based on the BJCP2008 guidelines (style 18D). Bottle 33 cl - Batch A42940444. AROMA: complex aroma with mild sweet malty notes of pears and ripe apples. perfumy alcohol notes and a slight citric touch. APPEARANCE: gold color and translucent. average moussy white head with good retention and lacing. TASTE: overall sweet malty flavour with notes similar to the aromas but less intense. medium bitterness in a dry finish and a somewhat bitter aftertaste. PALATE: medium-low body with medium-high carbonation. smooth alcohol warmth. OVERALL: a golden belgian ale with more interesting aromas that flavours.
